I don't want a friend with benefits
I want the benefit of having a real friend
I don't want to anticipate Summer
I want to enjoy the Summer I anticipated
I don't think about being skinny for the beach
I think about the beach with the black sand
Singing by the fire with a guitar by my hand
I don't cry my loneliness
I laugh at it and make it dance by the fireplace
Late at night under a pale moonlight
I don't think about drinking my pain away
I think about swimming in the ocean
Until the pain drifts with the waves
Sometimes, the way we see things
Can dictate how we feel
And I don't choose to feel bad
I try to see the best in every situation
