A/N: Before the story starts, any number-related things (time, money, etc.) might be off or seem a bit exaggerated bc I have (some form of/potentially have) math dyslexia lol. Anyways, enjoy <3

Y/N's pov:

I woke up in just enough time to find some decent clothes and make myself presentable for my first day at my new job.

Most of my clothes were pretty clean since I hadn't had any reason to change out of what I was currently wearing, so I found a nice outfit and placed it on my bed before taking a quick shower so I didn't smell or look too dirty. After that was taken care of, I threw on my clothes and attempted to make my hair look less messy before heading out the door. I didn't have much of an appetite, so I didn't bother with breakfast.

~Time skip~

As soon as I entered the pizzaplex, I was immediately cornered by a robot. It kept aggressively shoving a map in my face repeatedly.

"PLEASE TAKE A MAP. PLEASE TAKE A MAP. PLEASE TAKE A MAP. PLEASE TAKE-"

"Alright, alright. Damn," I said as I grabbed the map from the bot's hands. "Thank you for purchasing a map," it said before wheeling off to harass someone else.

I shook my head as I tried to register what had happened. This place is crazy, I thought.

I got up and looked at the map I had been forced to take. It had all the main attractions and greenrooms marked along with some restaurants and even the daycare that I was supposed to be working at.

My thoughts were interrupted by someone's voice.

"Are you Y/N?" I looked up from the map to see a guy with brown hair, green eyes, and pale brown skin. "Yeah," I replied quietly. "I'm Link, and I'll be taking you to the daycare to give you your things and a small tour," Link said with a smile as he shook my hand.

He seemed pretty nice, I'm not gonna lie. I followed him through the pizzaplex, and only then did I realize that it was massive.

I could easily get lost in this place at night, but I hopefully would be at home in my cozy bed by then.

After a lot of walking, we made it to the daycare, where Link stopped and handed me a pair of keys, my name tag, a security pass, and a radio.

"One of the keys is for these doors right here, and the other one is for your room," he said. "My room?" I asked. "Yeah, you have your own room since you'll be here for most of the time, and it's pretty common for employees to get locked in at night," Link explained. I nodded.

"I'll take you there later, but for now let's just handle the daycare," Link took his keys and unlocked the doors, holding one open for me.

As soon as I entered, I was attacked by bright colors and shapes that could easily give somebody a migraine. It was mainly just the sun, the sky, clouds, and rainbows. It was nice, but the colors were just too vibrant for me.

"You won't have to linger in here for too long. This is where I work to check in the kids and make sure they leave with the right parent. You'll be in the main play area with Sun," Link said as he guided me around the corner.

When we stopped, there was a slide. No door, no gate, just a slide.

Link slid down it first, and I heard him land in what sounded like a ball pit. "Come on, Y/N. I promise it's safe," he called brightly from the other side.

I shook my head as I slid down. I could hear the static crackling as I passed through. I was lucky I didn't get electrocuted.

However, when I stood up, I didn't see Link anywhere. He wasn't waiting outside the ball pit, and he wasn't in it. Surely he wouldn't desert me. Not on my first day.

Then I heard talking.

I got out of the ball pit and looked around to see Link standing next to something while speaking to it. I made my way over and saw some sort of animatronic crouched down at a table. It had a red and yellow jester outfit on, and yellow spikes were poking out of its head on all sides. Maybe this was the Sun dude Link had been talking about earlier.

"Oh, hey. You finally came down the slide," Link said when he noticed me. "Y/N, this is Sun. Sun, this is Y/N, and she's gonna be helping you from now on," he said.

The animatronic looked up from whatever they were doing, their face blank for a moment before resting their eyes on me. Its face lit up almost immediately and it pulled me into a hug, spinning around in rapid circles.

"A new friend! How wonderful and exciting!" it said happily. I was then held at arm's length and the animatronic looked at me. "I'm Sun! I'm glad to finally meet you!" Sun said. "What should we do first? We can tell stories, finger paint, have a puppet show- Ooh! We can even have a slumber party!" he went on about all sorts of childish but fun things to do.

I was too stunned to speak, and I just smiled awkwardly. "That sounds...great," I said. "Sun, maybe you should put them down," Link said. Sun didn't immediately obey, but he did set me down after a few seconds.

Now that I was on the ground again and Sun was standing up straight, I realized he was pretty fucking tall.

He towered over both me and Link, which scared me a bit. I could only imagine how tall he must seem to the kids.

"Okay, now that you've met Sun, I'll give you the tour-" "Oh, that won't be necessary," Sun interrupted. "I'll give her the tour since I'm the one she's going to be working with, thank you very much. Have a nice day, friend! Bye-bye!" he gently shoved Link out of the daycare through some doors near the security desk.

When he came back, he crouched down to my level, further inspecting me.

"Let's begin the tour, new friend! But before anything, I must tell you that we have one rule here in the daycare!" he said. "What is it?" I asked. "Keep the lights on," Sun said as his smile disappeared in an instant.

I will admit, I was a bit scared, but I agreed. "Okay, lights stay on. Got it," I said.

Sun immediately went back to his bright and energetic self. "Wonderful! I can't wait to show you everything!" he said.

The tour was short, but Sun mainly showed me where all the important things were. First-aid, fire extinguisher, that sort of stuff. He also showed me the play structures and places where kids might hide that aren't so easy to be seen.

"It's almost time for our little friends to arrive!" Sun said excitedly. "I have to be up at my tower to greet the children, so you'll be alone down here for a bit, but I promise I'll be back soon my sunshine!" he said. "And remember, don't turn the lights off!" he added before jumping on top of the play structures and leaping to his balcony.

Now I was left alone in the wide open space of the daycare.

I made my way to the table that Sun had been crouched down at when I first came in. It had children's drawings scattered all over the place. They were somewhat sorted into piles, though.

I didn't want to ruin them, but they were in the way, so I neatly put the piles into separate stacks and moved them somewhere else where they wouldn't get knocked over so that the table could be used. After that, I fixed the chairs and made sure everything was clean so the kids could use them.

Just as I finished disinfecting everything, I heard the happy shrieks and screams of children as they all came barreling down the slide.
