Seokjin walks up to Jungkook on set and though Jungkook used to be shy and quiet in school, he sits up straight and keeps his eyes right on Seokjin's.
It's the first time in years.
"Hey... Jungkook-ah."
Jungkook crosses his arms and feels a warmth of satisfaction spread throughout him as Seokjin averts his eyes and turns visibly red, visibly flustered.
"Seokjin-ssi."
A frown tugs at Seokjin's lips. "Why are you being so formal—"
"I don't want to be your friend," Jungkook says in a defeated tone. He doesn't mean to sound soft, either, but he does because Seokjin looks upset by the formality.
"But... Why not, Jungkook..?"
This time, the warmth turns boiling hot and it shoots throughout his entire body. Seokjin's question angers him more than it probably should. He fights back his glare, though. They're in public.
"Respect my decision."
Jungkook's words seem to throw Seokjin off; his eyes widen, he grows silent, and he tries to say something but decides against it and nods.
"Okay. If that's what you want."
It hardly is. Jungkook doesn't want things to be like this. He never did. He never thought it would be like this.
Seokjin walks away.
