"I said that's enough now," The villain caught hold of the hero's wrist as they tried to keep fighting, throwing their weapon aside, before drawing them close. Arms wrapping around them that may have been comforting if it didn't have the unyielding restraint of shackles.

"There we go, easy now. You've been hurt enough for one day."

Thrashing against the hold did nothing but exhaust the hero, and eventually they sagged. They sank together to the ground in a tangle of limbs. You hurt me, They wanted to scream. This is you're fault.

"Shh," The villain murmured - warned, they didn't even know anymore.

"It's enough. You've done more then enough, you've fought so bravely, but just listen to me. There's no shame in surrendering and living another day, alright?"

The villain gently patted the hero's back as a smile crept across his delicately-featured face. How strange thought the latter before carrying the bruised hero what life had in store for you. He knew he was not on the right side but he knew just as well that the hero was not on his side either.
