Right after Gillian had read her cousin's message, she got ready right away. 30 minutes? Did Madelyn believe she was The Flash?
Swiftly, the blonde picked out an outfit and ultimately settled on a dark blue slipdress. Finally, she added some last touches with makeup, adding some red lipstick which she hasn't worn in a long time. Even though Drew had seen her in casual clothes before, she still wanted to make a good impression on him, subconsciously putting in more effort than she normally did.
Shortly after, Madelyn picked her up, but to the blondes surprise, she was greeted by two more faces.
"Sorry, Gill, Chase wouldn't be deterred from coming along," Madelyn playfully rolled her eyes, while her boyfriend Chase gave her a satisfied grin.
"Oh don't be, I'm excited!" Gillian grinned back.
"Keep poor Drew company on the backseat," Chase laughed and pointed at the male behind him. "He's been abandoned."
Nodding, Gillian opened the door and caught sight of a cheerful Drew, who was still recovering from previous laughter.
"And this is how we meet again..."
They had all arrived at the bar a while ago and were giggling uncontrollably at Chase's anecdotes.
"But most importantly, our dear Drew here has been on a secret mission and made a recommendation for a certain person. Would you like to comment on that, Mr. Starkey?" Chase suddenly asked the question that had been burning on Gillian's tongue ever since they arrived, holding his hand like a microphone towards an embarrassed Drew.
"Well, um, since Jessica was kind of fired and we needed someone to cover her part, it seemed kinda obvious. I mean, Madelyn was gushing about Gillians work all the time, so I couldn't help but look into it some more and what I saw was more than just good..."
As Drew continued his story, Gillian's cheeks grew redder and redder the second. Madelyn lightly nudged her and gave her cousin an approving smile.
"It's a real honor to hear that from you, especially since I haven't been acting for very long," the blonde thanked him, noticing how Drews eyes fixed themselves onto her in the process.
"To be honest, some folks could learn a thing or two from you. Your work is amazing!"
For a while, the four of them engaged in a variety of conversations, but Gillian and her audition were always the main focus. Throughout the rest of the night, the blonde threw admiring glances at Drew, being occasionally caught by him, but Drew also couldn't help but steal a few glances at Gillian.
