Thankfully the rest of their journey was downhill as they headed towards the four columns which they had spotted
Protruding from the jungle whilst they stood at its peak.

The sun had now set and the moon had taken its place, the heat was now bearable and Saylor was actually enjoying the walk.

They had spent their journey sharing stories and joking around, she felt like she had learnt a lot more about those of Singhs men that she hadn't spent as much time with and even closer to those that she had.

A familiar laugh then came from the not so far distance which caused them all to halt and fall silent.

"That's my dad." Saylor informed everyone in a whisper as Carlton grabbed her hand in his own knowing that things were about to get intense, especially for Saylor.

For himself and the rest of the group the three were nothing more than their competition, the people they needed to remove from the situation, but that wasn't the case for Saylor. They were her friends... her family.

"From here we move in silence, don't strike until I tell you to do so." Carlos instructed them all in a harsh tone but his voice remained quiet. "And you." He pointed to Saylor. "Stay behind me, you are not to be seen until needed."

Saylor nodded her head in response before they headed in the direction in which they could hear her father and brother talking. Her hand never left Carlton's as they got closer.

Once they reached the clearing they spotted the three gathered around the table which had the now glowing gnomon positioned in the centre.

Carlos made a signal with his hand and the group split up so they were sounding them so that they were cornered from every angle.

Carlton pulled Saylor behind a tree which was slightly to the left of Singh. Carlos wanted her close incase he needed to put into action his plan of using her as leverage, although he didn't want to do that just yet.

He wanted Big John to have the gold in his hands as he offered him the ultimatum. He wanted him to think he had succeeded, to believe he had finally achieved his life long mission so that he could snatch it straight out of his hands and watch the look on his face as he did.

The conversation around the table suddenly turned tense as John B raised his voice at his father. "We all just went through hell and back to get here. Tell me what it says." There was a silent pause as Big John simply shook his head at his son. "This is what we're doing, huh? You're just gonna use us? Just gonna pull us in and push us out? Like you did with mom, like you did with me, like you did with Saylor. Look, now your doing it to Sarah."

All of the men's attention briefly turned to Saylor as they heard her name in their discussion. They all knew how Saylor felt about her father, about what he had done but most importantly about what he had failed to do.
