"I gotta admit, it's good to be back." Big John grinned as he walked down the Chateau dock stopping half way. "Whoo!" He cheered looking at the twins holding his hands out in celebration. "Would you look at this place."

Saylors heart swelled in her chest at the sight of her father running down the dock and into the Chateau with a large smile on his face. This is everything she had wanted when she ran away from Carol all those months ago.

John B saw his sister get emotional and he grabbed her hand in his before making them both run down the dock after their father. All of them laughing before they came to a stand still beside the large tree.

"Huh?" Big John raised an eyebrow at the craving the Pogues had made when they believed John B to be dead.

"Check it out. Got my own headstone." John B joked smiling at his father although the story behind the carving was less than humorous.

"Are we gonna stand out here and get eaten by mosquitoes or are we gonna go inside." Saylor playfully asked them wanting to change the topic.

"I missed the mosquitoes believe it or not." Big John replied throwing his arms over his children shoulders as they walked into the Chateau as a family.

In the evening the twins found themselves laid on the sofas on the porch as their father spoke to them through his bedroom window. "I dunno why the hell you two wanna sleep on the porch couches when it's so much cooler in here." Big John joked leaning his head back on his hands which were rested on the headboard of his bed.

The three of them laughed and in that moment everything felt normal. It felt as if Saylor had never been sent away, Big John never disappeared and everything after that never happened.

"Yeah, it's hot tonight." John B nodded pushing hair from of his forehead.

"You can say that again." Saylor groaned pulling her hair into a messy bun at the top of her head to stop her hair sticking to the back of her neck.

"Especially with no electricity. You guys didn't think to pay the bill?" Their father asked them as if he was actually annoyed but the twins knew he wasn't being serious.

"We were stranded on an desert island a little longer than we thought." John B replied closing his eyes getting comfortable.

"Yeah, I guess that is an excuse." Big John sighed a small teasing smile on his face.

The conversation seemed as though it had come to a standstill so Saylor turned on her side pulling her hands beneath her head and closing her eyes. "Night Bird, Night Dad." Both of them replied with the same thing. "Night Waves." making Saylor smile after her yawn.

It had been five minutes and Saylor was yet to fall asleep but she could feel herself drifting off. "Hey, John B. You know where that diary is right." Big Johns voice startled her and she fluttered her eyes open but stayed facing away for them. She knew he had waited until he thought she was asleep, he trusted John B more than he did her. He always had.

"Well, we have a copy." John B informed him but cringed as he thought about its current location. "And it's in the Twinkie... which is probably in the impound lot with the police." He sighed. "Gotta figure that one out."

"Yeah." Big John agreed and immediately Saylor knew by the tone of the voice he was going to go after the copy.

John B then bought up the argument the two had before Big John left. It was personal and Saylor felt as if she was intruding so she shut her eyes and focused on trying to go to sleep.

"I love you, Pop." She heard her brother tell their father.

"I love you, Bird." Big John was quick to respond with sincerity in his voice.

Saylor was conflicted, she was happy that John B had resolved his issue with their father and that they were both happy but she couldn't help but feel jealous. She couldn't think of a single time her father told her he loved her. But she also hated herself for being jealous of her brother and suddenly she could understand why Rafe was so frustrated all the time.

It hurt knowing your father loved your sibling more than you. It made you angry at them but most importantly angry at yourself for not being enough, not being enough to be loved by your own parent and angry at yourself for being jealous of someone you know you shouldn't be. John B couldn't control his fathers feelings just like Sarah couldn't control Wards.
