Saylor slept well that night, comfortably tucked within silk sheets and laid on a memory foam mattress. As she sat up in the bed her reflection in the mirror ahead of her startled her. It had completely slipped her mind that she was no longer a brunette but was in fact sporting blonde hair.

Unlike yesterday she smiled at herself in the mirror, she loved her new hair and she loved what it represented. A fresh start, a new and improved Saylor Routledge.

There was a gentle knock at the door before it was pushed open revealing Carlton who had a small smile on his face. "Breakfast is ready in the dining room."

Everything about her situation was unnatural, she was used to living of a single meal a day even that being a rare occurrence but now someone had prepared food for her. "Oh, yeah of course. I'm just going to brush my teeth." She told him swinging her legs over the side of the bed.

Carlton nodded his head and began to close the door. "I'll see you down there."

"Carlton." Saylor called his name making him stop and re enter the room. "Do you mind if we go together?" She didn't know her way around the place and waking alone in a room full of people she didn't know made anxiety bubble in her stomach.

His eyes softened realising just how unfamiliar she was in her new environment. "Yeah, of course." He closed the door behind him and walked over to her bed as she went to the bathroom.

Saylor brushed her teeth and changed into some new clothes not wanting her first formal introduction to be in her sleep wear. She pulled the black cargos up her legs and tightened them at the waist and paired it with a burgandy Josie top from urban.

She was certain she had that top in every single colour, they were comfortable and easy to wear in the OBX heat. The last time she had worn one was at the bonfire but she pushed aside those thoughts not allowing herself to fall into a deep hole of memories of the life she had turned her back on.

When she made her way back into her room Carlton was using his hand to brush out the wrinkles in her bed which he had just made. "You didn't have to do that." She told him with an appreciative look on her face.

He simply shrugged before making his way to her and raising his elbow. "Shall we make our way to breakfast Miss Routledge?" He asked playfully in a British accent.

"We shall, Mr Anderson." Saylor played along mimicking the accent and looping her arm around his elbow.

"Marvellous." Carlton patted his hand on top of her own, the action reminding her of Heyward. It dawned on her that it wouldn't be as easy as she had envisioned to move on and put her old life behind her.

The two skipped down the stairs singing 'were of the see the wizard' after Saylor joked about them following the yellow brick road.

The dining room was directly opposite the bottom of the stairs and Saylors eyes blew open at the sight ahead of her. Pastry's covered one side of the large oak table and cooked goods filled the other.

Her mouth began to water and her stomach rumbled. She had lived of coconuts and tiny fish for the past month so every inch of her was craving for real food. As much as she wanted to sprint to the table of shove as much food in her mouth as possible she couldn't.

Singhs men were all gathered sat at the table enjoying their meal and she didn't want to look like a slob so she forced herself to stay at the same pace as Carlton.

The second she stepped foot in the room all eyes were on her but she didn't back down, she stood tall and didn't let her fake confidence slip. They weren't looking at her in the way she expected. She had anticipated for them to look at her in distaste or with judgment but they weren't, they looked intrigued. Singh had never offered another to be his equal before.

"Guys, this is Saylor." Carlton introduced her breaking the silence. "Saylor... this is the guys."

"Nice to meet you all." Saylor raised her hand up in a little wave and offered them all a tight lipped smile feeling uncomfortable that she held all of their attention.

They all gave her a smile and welcomed her into their group, their voices overlapping and becoming one as they spoke before they turned there attention back to their food.

Well, that went better then she had expected.

Carlton pulled out a chair for her and motioned for her to sit. Saylor sat in the chair and pulled herself closer to the table as Carlton took the seat beside her.

"We haven't met yet." The blonde beside her spoke as he placed his cutlery back on his plate. "I'm Stephen." He held out his hand.

A small grin made its way on her face at the revelation of his name. "Saylor." She placed her hand in his own and shook it. "I love your hair." the compliment fell from her lips catching Carlton's attention who chuckled to himself knowing she knew he wasn't a natural blonde and that she had used his very own bleach to dye her hair.

"Thank you, I love your outfit." Stephen returned the compliment with a smile his ego now boosted as he ran his hand through his hair.

Saylor thanked him before filling her plate with food and tucking in. Her eyes rolled to the back of her head and she let out a quiet moan as the croissant crumbled in her mouth. "This is incredible." She announced taking another bite and everyone laughed as she could no longer control her hunger and ditched her manners.

"They like you." Carlton nudged her shoulder to catch her attention.

Saylors eyes filled with both admiration and hope. She was sat at a dining table eating delicious food with complete strangers but she had never felt more at ease.

The men had nothing in common aside there employer but she could see the genuine connection they had all formed. They had created their own little family and now she was apart of it.
