"I love you," Jisoo said, with her eyes glued to mine. I knew she did, but it was the words that made my heart explode. I smiled up at her.
"I love you, too" I repeated to Jisoo. The way she shouldered the problems, making them her own. The way she made my pulse quicken by looking at me like she was right then. She was my future. She pulled me close and kissed me. The dining room disappeared and I barely heard the well-meaning taunts flowing from the tables. I loved the strength she didn't know she had.
Kai had that type of strength. He made me promise him before he died. A promise I thought I would fail to keep. Not anymore. 'Kai, I kept my promise -- I found love again.'
