The night drags on, the only light from an orange streetlight flickering often, threatening to leave the world in utter darkness. My guitar beside me comforts me warmly, the only precious object in my bitter life. Droplets of rain force themselves down upon me, smashing into not just me, but my utterly precious instrument. With a faint fizz, the light above stuttered to a stop, plunging the world into a foreboding darkness. I am slowly willed into my dreams, or, more accurately, nightmares, by the eerie silence that has now fell upon the sleeping city of London...
