Author's POV

Suddenly Jungkook was pulled into the water and his eyes widened. He began to squirm in it and felt a hand grab the back of his neck. Instead of freezing, he felt as if his skin was on fire, and cries of different voices begging him to save them reached his ears. The clearest voice was that of his mother. He could recognize the voice for sure. He kicked his legs in the hope of being rescued, while he felt himself suffocating more and more

As he felt his lungs burn and consciousness slip away, he was immediately pulled up by a hand that grasped his own. He was unable to figure out who had pulled him up, but he was very grateful to the person. He was pulled to the surface and then ashore. He gradually regained consciousness and finally opened his eyes to see Taehyung, who looked pale and dull, but had a wave of worry in his eyes

"Jungkook, can you hear me?" Taehyung asked. Jungkook was still staring at him, trying to process whether he was hallucinating or actually dead. "Tae-" he tries to communicate, but somehow fails

"Yes, oh God! Jungkook try to answer me! do not close your eyes!" Says Taehyung and rubs his hand thoroughly. He feels a pressure on his neck and starts coughing up the water. After a few more coughing fits, Jungkook tries to sit up. After several failed attempts, he finally managed to stand up. He gasps heavily and looks down at his shaking hands as Taehyung wraps a towel over his body

His breathing was heavy and a little shaky because of the cold he feels because of the wind. Taehyung sits next to him, all wet from the water and panting to match his heavy breathing. Jungkook notices that he himself is shaking like a leaf as he unwraps his towel and hands it to Taehyung.

The other looks at him in surprise and Jungkook says with a raised eyebrow, "Why are you staring at me like that? You are shaking even more than me."

"Thank you. " Hesitantly, Taehyung takes the towel and dries himself off as best he can. Silence fell as Jungkook looked out over the lake where he had been before. Without much thought, Jungkook said, "I saw him." He felt a wave of grief wash over him and his eyes watered as Taehyung stared blankly at him

'He never left,' the other thinks, but he asks, "Who did you see?"

Jungkook exhaled shakily and replied, "Jimin." Taehyung felt goosebumps on his body and said in a dismissive tone, "He's gone."

That's when Taehyung makes the biggest mistake. Jungkook abruptly turns to him and Taehyung notices a strange expression on his face. The older man's eyes widen, showing a pure glint of curiosity, fear, and uncertainty. Suddenly, Jungkook grabs him by both shoulders, "What...what do you mean he's gone? Do you know where my Jimin is? Where is he, huh? I...I want to meet him and bring him back...where is he!!.my Jimin, Taehyung where is he!!!"

"SOMEWHERE FAR AWAY FROM US AND I FUCKING DO NOT HAVE ANY CLUE" Taehyung yells and pushes himself away from Jungkook. He trembled because he was afraid that Jungkook, if he mentioned Jimin further, might inadvertently blurt out the truth

"You know! You know where he is! I know this Taehyung!--" Jungkook tried to get closer to him. Taehyung shook his head repeatedly and muttered running away, "I do not know where he is."

Jungkook stared after the one running away. He sat down on the ground and said, "I know, Taehyung, you know where Jimin is." He looks at Taehyung, who now disappears from his sight. A drop of water fell from his hair strands as he said, "I will find him through you." The curtains were drawn over the window of the tree house and the room was dark again.

Mirie had been staring into the mirror since Jungkook left. Her figure was curled against the headboard of the bed and the blankets draped around her body. Her eyes were red from the blackness of sleep and she felt nauseous. But much more frightening to her was the fact that one edge of the bed was curved, as if someone had sat over it. As if someone was watching her, observing her. She was afraid to move or even blink.

Suddenly something wet fell on her hair. Another drop on her hand. She lifted her eyes from the mirror to see what was falling on her. Her heartbeat accelerated dramatically when she saw the drop of blood. Another drop fell on her hand and she closed her eyes immediately. She curled up even more and then she heard a laugh from a woman. She did not dare open her eyes as more drops fell on her. Slowly, blood soaked her, and the smell of blood became clear. Mirie knew that something... or someone was above her, but she did not dare look up

"Mirie..." It was a whisper from the same woman. "...Mirie...open your eyes, sweetie." She recognized the voice immediately. It was Jungkook's mother, but there was no warmth in the voice. She hears the eerie giggle coming again from the thing above her

"My dear...open it...I have a surprise for you," the voice says again. Mirie shakes her head involuntarily. The blood descends on her unceasingly.

"Look up, you'll feel no pain anymore!" Says the voice cheerfully.

I won't!I won't!I won't!I won't!

she recites over and over in her head, and then she makes a mistake. She loses her grip on the blanket and covers her ears, and the next moment the blanket is pulled away from her and thrown to the floor as Mirie tries to scream, but a hand suddenly grabs her neck and mouth, forcing her to look up. Mirie's screams were muffled as she saw Jungkook's mother suspended above the ceiling with iron strings while her mouth was torn open from where the blood was dripping. Her eyes were blurry and white, and suddenly she looked at Mirie with an eerie smile and said, "You're beyond saving."
