Author's POV

Mirie slowly opens her eyes. The vision was much brighter than before, though her eyes burn and she screams not to open them. She looks down at her stomach and again tears form in her eyes. With a shaky inhale, she closes her eyes again as her face twitches with pain. Not a physical pain, but a mental pain

The door opens slightly as she knew it could be Jungkook or the doctor or nurse. She didn't bother to open her eyes, but after the door was closed, she didn't hear any movement in the room. With a frown, she opens her eyes and finds that there's no one in the room. She looks at the clock, which says 5:00 a.m. in red letters.

Jungkook continues to sniff as he still lies on the ground. Suddenly, he feels a hand grasp his cheeks and gently lift his face. He gasps as he sees Jimin in front of him

"Jimin..." He whispers as his yearning heart wants to embrace the younger man. And so he does. Jungkook hugs Jimin tightly, hands desperately holding the other and he collapses

"Jimin....my love....my....little garden..." He whispers, but one thing that bothered him was the coldness of the body. It was freezing cold

"....I'm here..." Hears Jungkook say him. The older man tightens his grip around the smaller man even more as he feels hands frantically stroking his back and hair. The room was completely dark with only the moonlight falling on the two of them. Jungkook shakes violently as he tries to go under hyperventilation

but then he collapses ungently on the floor and when he looks around, he's all alone again. "Minnie?" he calls his name

"JIMINAH??!" Cries Jungkook, but he's only met with silence. Suddenly his phone rings as he checks the caller ID

the chief is calling...

He answers the call and hears from the other line "Jungkook?! are you there!?"

"Yes chief, I'm here." Answers Jungkook. "I'm sorry but now you've to take this case Jungkook. A few minutes ago, we received a call from a man who was hyperventilating and screaming that he saw a burning body in the church. Please come to the scene immediately!" and the call is disconnected

Jungkook immediately gets up, rubs his eyes and leaves the house. A few minutes later, he arrives at the church and sees the police officers and coroners around him. As Jungkook exits his car, the police chief runs up to him, "Oh lord, come!" and drags the man into the church

The smell of fire and burnt flesh fills the air. Jungkook covers his mouth, then sees the body. He immediately runs to the nearest corner and retches. He feels a hand on his forehead. "It's okay." Says the chief

They bring Jungkook water while he closes his eyes for a few minutes and looks at the body with enough courage. She was unrecognisable

The skin was dark red with blood and the mouth was open. The teeth had been pulled out and pressed into the eyes. The neck was half split and the oesophagus was exposed. The fingers had been severed and the legs were cut into pieces. The chest of the corpse was open and some organs were missing. Such as the kidney, heart, diaphragm, etc. The corpse wasn't wearing any clothes and a sentence written in blood circled around the corpse. It reads

NEXT PREY JOINING SHORTLY.

"Whoever did this, ... I've no words in my mouth to even describe the murderer." Says the chief. Jungkook averts his gaze from the corpse, "This is nothing normal...This is even beyond what a psychopath can do..."

"But this is the first time such a death has occurred. Other murders haven't been this gruesome."

"And what about the others?" Jungkook asked. "The corpses were pale, as if all the blood had been sucked out of their bodies, which turned out to be true. The corpses didn't even have a single drop....and all of them were old people and sometimes around 60," replied the chief

Jungkook grabbing his head and trying to ease the pain in his head. "Are y'all right, Officer Jeon?" Asked the chief, with concern in his voice and eyes. Jungkook nodded weekly "My wife... had a miscarriage this morning..."

"Oh! I'm sorry to hear that."

"It's all right, sir."

a few more papers followed, and in the end the boss finally handed him the file, which felt like a heavy weight in his hands. "Take as much time as you want. But... catch this criminal, Officer Jeon."

"I'll catch this psycho, chief. I'll," Jungkook said with determination in his eyes. "I believe in you...," the chief said and left shortly after

Another officer came up to Jungkook and saluted, "Sir Jeon, the chief has given me the task to be among you while you work on this case. there have been 3 other colleagues assigned to join you shortly." Jungkook nodded and said, "Make a survey all over the village and ask if anyone has seen anything suspicious or strange related to this case. Give me the report by 8 p.m. tomorrow

"Yes, sir." The officer bowed and left. Jungkook stowed the file in the storage of his car and started the engine. It howled and then the taller one drove off to check on Mirie. He groaned when he realised he hadn't bought any clothes for his wife. He made a U-turn and drove back to the manor house

It was quiet in the tree house. Everything in the room was in its place until the clock struck 3 a.m. and the curtains of the room opened by themselves. The moonlight falls on the piano and a few seconds later it starts to play by itself
It plays a melody that stays only within the confines of the room, but....only Taehyung can hear it, who was in his room trying to sleep. He clutched his sheet tightly and bit his lips

Jungkook opens the gate of his villa and sees that a melody is playing on the piano in the tree house and the curtains have been pulled apart. The taller immediately runs to the tree house without thinking...

"Come...my darling...I've been waiting..."
