Thoughts I have about this book :

I really like writing, though I feel like I could write better. I don't know if I will write another book, if the inspiration strikes, I guess I could try. Maybe I could write oneshots instead of whole books, I don't want to find writing stressing, writing is about having fun after all. I won't write smut though, I don't feel comfortable writing it, and also my friends can read my fanfiction, I don't want them to read this kind of stuff written by me lmao.

When I first had the idea of making this fanfiction, I played for the first time a Call Of Duty game, and I wanted to know more about all the lore around it.

And I suddenly felt the need to know more about the military in general.

I also mainly got the inspiration by the song "Le Chant Des Partisans", you can find the lyrics in the two last chapters. This song is truly part of the french culture in my opinion, fuck baguettes, bérets, wine and cheese, this song is truly what France is about.

Thoughts I had about the characters I created :

My goals for this story were :
- Finishing it
- Make people like characters I invented and wrote
- Insert as much accuracy about how I perceive the world into Bullet

When I was younger, like a few years ago, I tried to write other fictions, but never actually finished them. I didn't have the will to just write it. I didn't know what to write, how, I wouldn't even think of the plot in general. But since I wrote the last chapters first for this fanfiction, I only had to write the plot until the end I already thought of.

I wrote seven original characters, inspired by different things and different people.

Bullet is inspired by me, how I perceive the world. I liked to write details about how awkward he would feel, him wondering why he would feel that way. I want to remind you that Bullet's sister, Amy, is neuroatypical, so Bullet could be too, I just didn't want to confirm it or not. In fact, I think I'm autistic, but I'm not a hundred percent sure since I don't have a diagnosis, that's why I won't refer to myself as autistic. There was also a time I wasn't doing my best mentally, I tried to do my best to incorporate some experiences I had to this character. And even though this character is mainly inspired by me, it's almost a part of me, it is not my favorite.

I also noticed in the comments that many of you were saddened by Shay's passing. When in fact she is not that much in the story, there are mostly descriptions of her, just some actions before her death to show these descriptions were real. I think you mainly liked her because of the fact she was a buff, strong, tall woman, because honestly, you must be as tired as I am of men writing women.

I tried to incorporate some of my knowledge about mental health into Sangy's character. At the start, he is cheerful, likes to joke, after his friend's passing he gets more irritated and most likely wants to get alone.

Then there was Captain Monster, or Corentin, the french Captain of the Modern French Résistance. He is greatly inspired by Gotaga, a Call Of Duty professional player, nicknamed the "French Monster". Or he was a Call Of Duty professional player, but he is still active and still makes content now. He participated in the "Grand Prix Explorer", an F4 championships with french content creators who had to learn how to drive an F4 from 0. I think you should check his content out, he's really fun to watch.

There was also Sergeant Pensée who was, this time very slightly, inspired by a content creator, when I visualize her in my head, I think of Baghera, another french content creator, that's also where she took her name from, Justine.

And there is Mehmet, my favorite character honestly. He is a nod to my Turkish part, I barely know the Turkish culture, my mother is French and my father is Turkish, I was born, raised, and still live in France, french is my first language, I know the french culture. But my father is absent, haven't seen him since March 2021. But even before that, he would try to "buy my love" so to say, he never really got to know me. If I'm gonna be honest, I don't know what it feels to have a 24/7 father. I remember as a kid my mom talking about having a new partner and me telling her I would refuse to have a father. I never fully accepted I was part french and part of something else I never really got to know, it's like you're a certain nationality, but there's also another one hidden under the carpet you know you have but you barely know. And I'm slowly accepting it, that's why I portrayed Mehmet as something good, to convince myself all Turkish people are not like my father, or like Turkish men in my family in general. I would love to know more about the Turkish culture, I would love to eat Turkish food again, not like kebabs, but like gözleme. I wish I had Mehmet in my real life to tell me about how being Turkish is cool. The name Mehmet comes from the fact I could have been named that way. It is now my oldest half brother's name. But also my grandfather's name, and lastly one of my cousin's name. I mean that's what I was told, I don't have contact from my Turkish family, language barrier, my father would make the link between us, and I'm also scared of how they would react if they know I'm queer, since according to what I read, LGBTQ+ people are not as welcome in Türkiye as they are in France.

And lastly, Lieutenant Watch. I don't like him, he's an asshole. But I made him to be that way so fuck me I guess.
