Tam POV:

I finished reading an awkward book about how Elves give birth. I'm glad that I'm. never gonna have to deal with that. Anyway, I reached up to grab a book from the pile, my eyes still on the previous book, trying to forget its contents, when it happened.

My hand made contact with another hand. I looked up and saw my hand on Biana's. I immediately hoped my palm wasn't sweaty. Both of us had tried to grab the book at the same time, and on the way up, our hands met.

The weirdest part is, neither of us pulled away. We just sat there holding hands mid-air, staring at each other. Biana blushed, and I'm pretty sure I did as well. It was a special moment.

Biana POV:

Tam sat next to me at the circular table, holding my hand mid-air. There was something comforting about his touch, a subtle smile on his face. I couldn't help blushing.

"I like you Tam" I said, softly. I'm not sure why I did that. Besides he might not like me back. I pulled my hand back, and hugged my knees, my hair hiding my face. I heard his chair moving. Great. Now I've scared him off.

To my surprise, he actually moved his chair closer. He placed his arm around my shoulder and tucked my hair behind my ear.

"I like you too." I looked up, and I saw his eyes. A bit scared, but genuine. I smiled. After all these years...

I know I used to like Keefe, but ever since we went to Ravagog, I liked Tam. And when he joined the Neverseen, my heart kinda broke.

Tam POV:

After she confessed her feeling to me, Biana withdrew her hand and hugged herself. I didn't know what to do, so I moved closer and placed my hand around her. I tucked her hair back so I could see her face, and I told her that I liked her too. She looked at me, smiling. If only she knew how long I liked her for.

"Do you want to get dinner with me on Friday? We can go to Atlantis" I said.

"I would love to. I'll meet you at Everglen at 6:00" she said.

"We should probably get back to work now" I said.

"How about we read together? That way if one of us misses something, the other could catch it, and it would also be more fun." Biana suggested. I agreed, so we moved and Biana leaned against my shoulder. I flipped the new book to the first page. We took turns reading out loud.  At some point in time, Biana lay down with her head on my lap, and her legs curled on the bench. I started playing with her soft hair.

While she was reading, someone interrupted us.

"Aww, you guys are so cute like that!" Linh said, kinda loudly. Not gonna lie, I love my sister, but I wanted to kick her. Biana got startled and sat up quickly. Well she tried to anyway, but we bumped our heads, and she got bounced back to my lap.

"What are you guys doing here?" I asked, rubbing my head.

"We got bored so we wanted to see if you guys had made any progress" she said nonchalantly.

"No we haven't, so let us get back to research" I said, a bit annoyed. They left and we continued reading. We finished half a page before Biana's imparter start blinking.

Biana POV:

We had just continued reading when my imparter rang. It was my mom, so I had to pick up.

"Hey mom" I said

"Hey Biana. Where are you?" she asked

"I'm with Tam at the library. Linh and Fitz are here too."

"Come home soon. It's almost time for dinner" she said.

"Okay mom. Be there in five" I said, hanging up.

Tam walked me to the door.

"I'll see at 6:00 tomorrow I guess" he said.

"Yeah. See you tomorrow" I said. Just as I was about to step into the beam, I put the crystal down and stepped closer to Tam. I put my hands around him and kissed him. Quickly. He look surprised, even though it was only on the cheek. I laughed and stepped into my beam of light, completely forgetting about Fitz.

I reached Everglen at the same time as Fitz though. He saw me smiling, and probably blushing, so he asked what happened.

"I'll tell you tomorrow after our first date." I said, and quickly ran inside before he could process what I said. I showered and went to dinner.

Surprisingly, I didn't get showered with questions, which could mean two things. Either Fitz didn't tell them, or they were waiting for me to speak up. So I did.

"I'm to Atlantis tomorrow with Tam. Around 6:00 in the evening. We'll eat there" I said. My dad was smiling, but not the 'I'm so happy' smile, it was more of a 'All of my kids have grown up' kinda smile. A bit sad, but still happy. My mom on the other hand was smiling from eye to eye, or something. It's a human expression, so I'm not too sure.

She asked me a few questions like "are you dating?" and "what are you going to wear?". I answered maybe to the first one, and I don't know yet to the second.

Tam POV:

I went back home with Linh and Wylie, and a smile on my face. Something you don't see often, so Tiergan asked me what happened.

"I have a date tomorrow at 6. Biana and I are going to Atlantis for dinner" I said, knowing I would sleep well cause my dreams had been fulfilled.
