Chapter 27: A Day out

After looking around, the girl spotted us and started walking over here, but before she could reach us, Sylvie left my arms and ran toward her

" Mama!" Sylvie shouted as she jumped into Aleas arms

" Hey there little girl" Alea said and hugged her stepdaughter

I watched the scene before me with a warm smile until the two didn't come up to me and confused Ellie

" Hey Arty" Alea said and kissed me lightly on the lips

" Hey Alea" I answered with a smile

She was wearing a casual one-piece dress that felt just a little short of her knees. The dress was purely white with a simple red ribbon going around it

" Brother, who is this?" Ellie asked with a curious voice, but her eyes were suspicious, almost threatening Alea not to play around with me

" Hi there" Alea said with a wave of her hand " You must be Arthur's little sister, Ellie? I am Arthur's girlfriend, Alea,  it's nice to meet you" she said and conjured a single rose in her hand that she later placed as an ornament in Ellies hair

" I-i see" Ellie said with a slight blush on her face " Nice to meet you"

" Ellie, let's not say mom and dad about her, I want to keep it a secret until the time is right, okay?"

" I-i guess that if brother buys me an ice cream, I could keep it a secret for a while"

' Tsundere '

' Shut up Regis'

" Any ice cream my baby sister wants" I answered with a smile

" Yaaay! I love you brother! " Ellie shouted and hugged me

After this, I felt a slight tug on my shirt. Looking down, I saw Sylvie looking at ne with puppy eyes " Me too" she said expectedly

Saying that this melted my heart would be an understatement, so you can bet that my answer came in a softer voice than I intended " Yeah yeah" I answered while patting her

The four of us walked around the Xyrus, making our way to the famous shopping district. The streets were already full of food stalls and performers, there was even a stall or two that sold souvenirs

" How long will you be able to stay here?" I asked Alea while paying for two ice creams

" I guess that I will have to go back tonight, I have to go on an expedition tomorrow" she answered after thinking for a moment

" I see..." I answered, my voice coming out much sadder than I intended it to

A soft and gentle smile blossomed on Alea's face, and in the next moment, her lips were pressed to mine, spreading a sweet aroma of cherries through my mouth. Not wanting to have my little sister, daughter, and half of the Xyrus look at us, I activated the Static Void, forcing the entire time to come to halt just so I could keep enjoying our kiss even for a moment longer

" Don't worry Arty, we will be able to have more time together soon" Alea said after separating herself from me

(* UGHH! I HATE WRITING THIS CHAPTER!!! ITS QUITE LITERALLY JUST SOME RANDOM BULLSHIT *)

As if her words had the power to control me, I was able to go back to my usual self, and after another quick kiss, I restarted the time and we proceeded with our shopping

"" Brother/Papa look! Aren't we cute?"" Ellie and Sylvie said in unison after putting on matching, cat-eared one-piece pajamas

" Yeah, you are the cutest" I said while telling them to go change so I could buy them their matching pajamas

Of course, I already bought them unique pajamas while they weren't looking. For Sylvie, I bought a white fox-related one while for Ellie I bought a brown bear-inspired one

Even Alea and I purchased a matching pair. Mine pajama had dog ears while Aleas had cat ears, but at the bellies, we both had half of the heart, designed so that when we stand next to each other they form a one complete heart

After paying for all six pajamas, we left the store so we could continue our shopping elsewhere. That day we visited many shops, ranging from the ones with clothes, all the way to the tableware, even the ones with toys. Of course, we also visited a weapon shop, from which Alea had to drag me out because I was about to purchase a spear, axe, and ten swords - which made Dawn cry about me wanting to change her

Right now, we are in one of the parks that are close to the teleportation gate. Ellie and Sylvie are playing around while Alea and I are sitting on a bench and watching over them. Thanks to my dimensional rune, we didn't  have any luggage to carry around so it is quite spacious here

" It seems like they are having a lot of fun over there" Alea said as she leaned her head on my shoulder

" Yeah" I said with a relaxed smile, the scene before me allowing me to forget for a moment that the future in front of us is as dark as it could get

I didn't say much, but just laid my hand on top of hers, and kept looking over my bonded daughter and one and only precious baby sister, thankful that both of them still have that innocent smile on their faces that they lost somewhere along the war

" Hey Arthur" Alea said and made a slight pause "do you think that one day we will be able to have a child of our own, biological I mean" Alea said with a sad look on her gorgeous face, clearly remembering her family that she was unable to save even after regression

" Yeah" I said as I moved us so that we will be able to see each other " and this will be our first step" I said as I placed a metallic object in her hand

" This is...?" Alea said as she observed the object

" It's a key to our very own apartment in Xyrus"
