CHAPTER 18: The future that's to come

Arthur POV

After the discussion with Virion and others, I headed back for the Helstea mansion

The revelation of the fact that the Dwarven royal family has betrayed us shocked everyone,  but we were still able to come up with a plan

I will keep destroying their camps while Virion and Cynthia will be giving me informations about weird activities in the glades

In the meanwhile, Gideon will be giving his best to try and understand the Alcaryan technology

He said that it is complicated and that it will take him some time, but that's fine

We can't rush things, that would spell our doom

Alcarya is by no means an easy opponent, and it would be for the best if we could at least understand their advanced technology to some extent before the war begins

Virion will also have the task of keeping an eye on the Royal families, making sure that they don't something too extreme

I will kill the Greysunders after the council is formed and its existence is secured, but if they go too far with their cooperation with Alcaryans then... I will push the date of their execution to be much earlier than intended

While thinking about this it seems like I let some of my killing intent out and people started choking around me

Since I was in the middle of the Xyrus a very big turmoil was created so I ran from there as fast as possible by combining the mirage walk and multiple burst steps

Usually, my body wouldn't be able to handle even one burst step, but with asuran body and aether it was as easy as stealing candy from a baby

Soon enough, I arrived at the mansion

I was nervous

Soon I will be telling mom and dad what have I been through and... who am I actually

And I can't see them accepting that nicely

My regression? Yes

But my reincarnation? Maybe better than the last time, but I guess that I will be disowned soon

It's depressing, heartbreaking... but I have to do this

Relationships that are based on lies are doomed to fail, and that even goes for the ones between families

Maybe if I tell them now, this time we will be able to make up before the war?

And maybe then mom and dad will listen to me and... dad will not die?

" Come in" I heard my mother's cheerful voice from the other side of the doors

I was about to open the door but, I hesitated

I was afraid

* sigh *

Once I opened the door I saw dad sitting on their bed reading the newspaper while mom was tidying up something around the room

" Come in Arthur, sit!" Dad shouted while patting the spot on the bed

I sit on the bed and stayed silent for a while

Mom and Dad noticed that something isn't right so they have become worried as well

' I hate that I am doing this to them '
