Light
You are light.
Sometimes you shine so bright
That I have to look away.
You saved me from this darkness,
This life of misery
Where I was cold and had no purpose or concept of life.
I only knew how to kill-
Unfamiliar blood always leaked from my hands.
And here you came
Compassionate and generous.
You came, and saved me.
I dedicated my life to you, after that.
I cared for you.
I loved for you.
I fought for you.
I killed for you..
And you didn't mind.
You still let me stay around.
Yet I could sense something
Something so sinister
That I realised even you could crack
despite how ethereal you seemed.
You were delicate.
You're only human after all.
Just like me.
You needed support and someone there for you too
So I stayed to be that person for you.
It was heaven while it lasted.
We'd lose ourselves in time
but good things always come to an end.
And so did we.
We made a suicide pact.
If one dies
the other does too.
But when you were at your time of need
You rejected me.
I could never get my head around why.
I'd dedicated everything to you.
You lost yourself in the same spiral you saved me from.
This time, I wanted to be your light.
You taught me how to feel.
Your betrayal hurts.
Now I wonder whether real life had any true appeal.
I saved you in the end.
Before you were fully gone.
You were grateful and thanked me,
Swore to make it up.
But your betrayal hurt so I decided it was time.
Time to leave.
We needed space apart.
It was time for me to clear my head.
You and I were of different worlds with different goals.
It was better this way.
We'll meet again one day, I'm sure of it!
Just when the time is right and we're both not lost.
Then we'll be each other's light-
Just as we'd promised...
