Epilogue - Special Ending

"Taking care of a what now?!" Kai was not expecting that last part at all. Did she hear that correctly?

"A baby. They adopted a baby." Paris clarified.

Kai's jaw dropped, almost reaching the ground. So, what she heard earlier was right. She did hear correctly the first time. But, hold on second, what the hell! How? Who? What? Where? When? What exactly did she miss? How did things escalated to this? Since when were those two planning to have a child together? And why did it happen so soon? What in the world was going on?!

"Wait, when did that even happen? Venus woke up from a comma like ten days ago. Why did they adopted a baby all of a sudden? Are they even prepared for that?" Kai had so many questions on her mind but she could only ask a few at a time.

"It's quite a long story that even I am still confused about. I think it's better to ask them in person for all the details once we have a chance to see the baby." Paris said while scratching the back of her head.

"Yeah, alright then. How about the gender though? Do you know if it's a girl or a boy?" Kai was really intrigued with the topic.

"It's a girl. They named her Violet." Paris smiled subconsciously. "She is really cute. Pearl sent me pictures of her last night. Do you want to see them?"

"Sure! I want to see." Kai was smiling too now while focusing on the road ahead. She never thought that a baby will make her feel this excited.

Paris went on her phone and scrolled through her gallery until she found the pictures. "Look, look. Isn't she adorable?"

Kai took a few quick glimpse to the pictures before fixing her gaze back on the road again. "Oh my God! Aww! What a cutie-pie! She is so tiny!"

"I know right?" Paris was also melting from the cuteness of the baby in the pictures. "She is a new-born, that's why she is so small. She looks just like Venus, right?"

"Yes! True! I was about to say that too. She has blonde hair and light eyes just like her." Kai added with a titter. "Hopefully she will not have her personality too, haha."

"Hahaha, let's hope not."Paris couldn't help but to laugh too. "I'm so happy for them though. This little girl will for sure bring them so much happiness in their lives."

"I agree." Kai nodded. "I still believe that it was too soon though. But I'm sure that they had their reasons."

The atmosphere between them was pleasant again and they couldn't stop talking about Violet for quite a long while. It was only after fifteen minutes that they had finally changed the subject.

"Hmm, how about Kyle and Parker? Have you contacted them recently?" Paris asked Kai this time.

"Yeah, Kyle has been keeping me updated these days. They seem to be doing great after moving in together." Kai answered. "Have you talked to Parker too?"

Paris assented her head. "Yes, we text each other everyday. I'm still not used to having him this far away, so I have been contacting him more than usual. But I'm sure that Kyle is taking good care of him. Parker is already an adult, so I know that he will be fine. I shouldn't be too worried about him anymore."

"I mean, it's normal to be worried. He is your younger brother after all. But you're right. He is already an adult. He will slowly start being more independent. It's normal." Kai added.

They continued with the conversation for another five minutes until they arrived to their destination. Kai stationed the vehicle in the large parking lot of the place and Paris was looking out the window to see where exactly they were.
