I brought the tea up and gave it to Daniel. Slowly he drank it, after 20 or so minutes he finished and I returned to the kitchen and washed the dishes. I quickly returned to my room and laid down beside Daniel before falling asleep.

April 13th

The Cohens left for synagogue an hour ago. I had started to clean the house before I go to work in a few hours.
I heard a sudden knock at the door. I went over the door and opened it, "Hello, how may I help you?" I asked the people at the door. There were two sets of elderly couples.

They were silent for a few moments, "Hello Miss, I am looking for Keith Cohen and his family," said one of the men.
I looked at them for a second, "Do you speak German?" I asked, wanting to confirm my suspicions.
"Yes, we are looking for our family," the woman who was next to the man who spoke earlier said in German, a strong Berlin accent lacing each word.

"Are you Daniel's grandparents?" I asked quickly in German, they nodded. "Please come in and take a seat in the parlour, then we can have better introductions," I suggested.

They nodded and sat in the parlour. "You don't look like any of our granddaughters," one of them asked.
I shook my head, "I'm Daniel's fiancé, um, by birth Gretchen Müller, but here in England, Gretchen Whitestone." I explained awkwardly.

"My name is Benjamin Cohen, Fräulein Müller," said Herr Benjamin Cohen, "This is my wife, Ursula," he said as he gestured towards his wife.
Herr Benjamin Cohen wore a dark suit, almost black, he had dark grey hair that must've once been black or dark brown. He had some lighter silver-white hairs in the mix under the hat he just removed. His skin was even more tanned than Daniels, however, he had bright blue eyes.

Frau Ursula Cohen had silver white hair in the typical Victorian fashion, and her dress resembled the time too. She had a white long-sleeve blouse that had a small thin ribbon tied in a bow. She wore a dark belt and a dark blue skin reaching lower shins. She had hazel eyes, a mix of brown and green.

I nodded, "It is nice to meet you Frau and Herr Cohen," I said with a bow of my head.

The other man spoke, he has in a brown suit. "I am Albert Pearlman," said Herr Pearlman, "this is my wife, Anne Pearlman," the man said gesturing at his wife.

Herr Pearlman also had dark grey hair, so I could guess he too had dark hair in his youth, probably black since I remember Daniels Pearlman cousins having black hair, and so does his mother. He had a similar tan to Daniel, a light olive tan. He had green eyes under his spectacles.

Frau Pearlman also dressed in a similar-Victorian style. Her dark brown hair with quite a few greys were in a puffed bun style I remember seeing my Oma wear.
Frau Pearlman wore a dress that had small puffed sleeves and was an Emerald green in colour, almost reaching her ankles.
She had the same eyes as Daniel, a dark brown with flecks of gold.

I made them some sandwiches and put them on the table. "Is there anything I can do for you?" I asked them.
They shook their heads, "We know enough English to short out living arrangements and start work. We don't want to cause you guys more stress than you already have with helping our children, and grandchildren," Herr Benjamin Cohen said.

I nodded, "There isn't an issue, Daniel and I have agreed that Herr and Frau Cohen, your children, know enough English to start work, well, Frau Cohen started earlier since Daniel and I can handle the translating." I explained.

They nodded, "Speaking of which, where are they?" Frau Pearlman asked.
"At the synagogue, they should be back in about an hour," I said. They nodded and returned to silence, "Would you like to have some tea or coffee?" I asked.
