June stood on the doorstep of Tannyhill, her stomach in knots as she stared at the door. She refused to knock, or really she just didn't have the gall to do it, her mind imagining what terrors would await her on the other side. She couldn't believe she had agreed to something like this, to spending real time with Rafe, contributing hours of her life  to doing whatever it  is that he wanted. But once again it was the price she had to pay for a chance to make things right.  And unfortunately she had managed to trust Rafe, a fact that made her sick to her stomach.

Her hand lifted to knock and she beat on the door, her body freezing as she realized what she had done. However she could not take it back, her breathing resuming as she pushed some hairs out of her eyes. She fixed her shirt, the girl looking down at her shoes before clasping her hands behind her back.  She rocked onto the balls of her feet a few times before she finally saw someone on the other side of the door, her stomach twisting as he came into view.

Rafe pulled the door open, an already smug smile on his lips. He leaned against the door frame, his eyes mercilessly taking her in. He lingered on the skirt, the frills making his stomach knot as he looked back up at her face.

"You're here early. I said 6...it's noon." June hadn't realized this at all, her cheeks betraying her and glowing a bright red. Rafe couldn't help but smile wider, his teeth showing as she started to speak.

"Just wanted to get it over with."

"By showing up earlier...if you wanted to see me you could just say that." He said, his chest burning as he flirted with her, however her entire face dropped and she rolled her eyes, Rafes crinkling at the corners as he waited for whatever snarky comment she would make, his hand going up to his mouth as he tried to wipe away his smile.

"Oh yeah, I was so thrilled to see you. So we could hang out and talk and you could try to kill me and blah blah." He chuckled and she actually managed a smile, some kind of dark humor amusing them both. He moved out of the way of the door, gesturing with his head for her to come inside. She sucked in a weary breath and stepped inside, her shoulders
tense as she did so. He immediately noticed this,  closing the door behind them and  placing his hands on her shoulders. She jumped at the contact, turning around and shaking her head at him. He put his hands up in surrender, his eyes widening as he spoke.

"Oh I'm sorry. Sorry I forgot about the no touching rule." She gave him an obvious look, Rafe shrugging his shoulders and June letting out a breath.

"Please don't make me regret this." She said, the corner of her lip turning up as she gave him the benefit of the doubt, they had to be here together for the entire day, she would rather not spend the whole time with him arguing.  He led her towards the living room, June sitting down on the couch. She felt strange, being in the lions den, a place she had been hundreds of times before. He sat in a chair across from her, the disbelief in his body starting to fade as he realized she was really here. He was playing it cool, but he couldn't help but feel his love for her come to the forefront of his mind, her generosity and ability to forgive making him entranced by her.

"So what happened with Kie after you two abandoned me in Barbados? Anything crazy?" June let out a sigh, sitting back  and attempting to relax as she thought back to what Singh had told her. She considered not telling but then figured that if they didn't speak this entire day would be boring and more terrible so she  shrugged and carried on.

"Actually yes...turns out she leveraged me to Singh for her freedom. So you were right about that. And then she tried to kiss JJ. Seems like you were right about that one too." Rafes eyebrows raised when she spoke about the kissing part, that same amused look on his face as he shook his head slightly.
