In a renowned café nestled in the heart of New York City, two individuals captivated the attention of everyone around. Their presence was magnetic, drawing whispered comments and admiring glances.
"Hey, isn't that Kron?" whispered a female customer.
"Yeah, the guy from that blockbuster movie 'Solstice,' right?" her friend replied, their admiration evident. "He's even more handsome in person!"
"Is that his girlfriend with him? She's stunning, seriously!"
"Such a perfect couple!"
Kron Lexter, a 27-year-old man who seemed to have it all: wealth, power, looks, and women! Dozens, perhaps even hundreds, of beautiful women had fallen for him, but the one sitting across him now, Eloussa, was in a league of her own—a woman whose beauty far surpassed the average, capturing his undivided attention.
"Kron," Eloussa called out, her voice cutting through the hum of admiration surrounding them, "you have so many fans here!"
"No, they're surely admirers of your beauty, Eloussa!" Kron humbly replied.
"HAHAHAHA!" a loud laugh echoed from the table next to them, coming from a girl engrossed in a novel.
"Granny Galaxy," Eloussa muttered, noting the title on the book's cover, "that looks like a fun read."
"Interested?" Kron asked, eager to engage her interest.
Suddenly, Kron pulled out a sealed copy of 'Granny Galaxy' from his pouch, surprising Eloussa.
"Surprise!" he exclaimed as he handed it to her.
"Another magic trick?!" Eloussa replied, astounded. "You never tell me how you do them. You're like a wizard!"
"Hahaha," Kron laughed softly, admiring his girlfriend's beauty. Her hair flowed smoothly, her eyelids were beautifully shaped, her lips plump and red. 'How can such a perfect woman exist, is she an angel descended from heaven?'
"Kron," Eloussa interrupted his reverie, "our food's taking a while, hasn't it? It's been over half an hour."
"This place is buzzing tonight. Let's be patient, Eloussa," Kron soothed, ever the gentle voice of reason.
"Hungry..." Eloussa mumbled, glancing briefly at her watch, then stirring the almost finished caramel latte in her cup. Kron and Eloussa often checked their watches, a unique commonality between them.
As the wait stretched beyond reason, Kron's frustration bubbled to the surface, prompting him to flag down a server. "Excuse me! It's been over 40 minutes. How much longer do we have to wait?"
"I'm so sorry, sir," the server arrived, trying to calm him, "we're quite busy this evening, maybe another 20 minutes before our chef can start on your order. Would you mind waiting?"
"WHAT!?" Kron's voice grew heated. "It's been nearly an hour, and you haven't even started cooking?"
"My apologies, sir."
"You could've told us right from the start, instead of keeping silent like an idiot! WHERE'S YOUR MANAGER, CALL THEM HERE!" Kron demanded.
"Right away, sir, please wait a moment."
"Idiot! Hurry up!" Kron snapped, visibly irritated.
The server quickly went to call their supervisor. Kron's uncontrolled emotions changed Eloussa's expression to one of displeasure—obviously turned off by Kron's impulsive behavior. Surely, Kron needed to maintain his class in front of a woman as perfect as Eloussa, right?
Shortly after, the cafe manager, a woman in her forties, approached their table, accompanied by the server. She placed two plates of cake before them, a peace offering of sorts.
"Good evening, Mr. Kron. We're deeply sorry for the wait; it's an exceptionally busy night," she explained politely. "We appreciate your patience. Your order is being prepared as we speak. Here's a special chocolate cake on the house to make up for the delay."
"Ah, chocolate cake, my favorite!" Kron muttered, picking up the cake with his left hand, then suddenly smashing it right into the manager's face!
SPLAT!
The café fell into shocked silence as all eyes turned to Kron. The girl reading next to them dropped her book in shock.
"KRON!? What on earth?!" Eloussa stood up in shock, immediately apologizing to the manager, who was visibly upset. She quickly grabbed some napkins, trying to clean the manager up.
Kron's anger hadn't subsided, ruining what was supposed to be an important date! He suddenly kicked the table towards the right, causing dishes and glasses to shatter on the floor.
CRASH!!
Security was called in, and the situation escalated, with everyone's phones out recording the scene! For Kron, this was a catharsis, a unique way to vent his frustrations maximally, and now he was thoroughly satisfied, laughing heartily. Then, Kron simply snapped his fingers.
CLICK!
And...
BZZT!
The atmosphere in the café returned to normal, as if Kron's outrageous behavior had never happened.
"Kron," Eloussa remarked, "our food's taking a while, isn't it? It's been half an hour."
"Just a moment longer, Love," Kron replied gently. "How about we order some fruit or cake in the meantime to tide you over?"
Eloussa nodded in agreement.
Indeed, Kron could rewind time at will! Any mistake could be erased with this power; Kron could do no wrong, especially not in a way that would upset Eloussa. Kron had been enjoying this superpower for some time, acquired at the age of 45 during a particularly dark period when he attempted to end his life. But now, at 27, his life was... perfect!
The dinner eventually unfolded into a romantic evening filled with laughter and intimate conversation, bringing them closer than ever before. Seizing the moment, Kron ventured.
"How about we continue this conversation back at my apartment?"
