It had been a bit less than a year since the fall.

Everyone was still grieving, but it was less severe than when they first got here. Mammon was determined to help every single one of his siblings, starting with Lucifer.

The male was distracting himself with work-related Devildom things. Mammon was left with no choice but to wait for his brother to return.

As the white-haired male sat there fidgeting with his shirt, his finger grazed a small metal accessory. He couldn't help but pause.

The metal accessory...was none other than a ring. A direct copy of the one he gave you, though made with silver instead of gold.

It served as a...reminder of you.

...

Mammon couldn't help but stare at the ring silently. Thoughts of you instantly filled his mind, as much as he hated it.

You were supposed to be a thing in the past. Surely you were moving on by now. After all, a year wasn't as short for a human as it was for a demon.

Perhaps you've already even forgotten about him.

...

This was stupid.

He shouldn't remind himself of you. Otherwise it'd get him in a depressive mood.

The way his stomach churned in 'discomfort' had him regretting ever thinking about it. Thinking about you.

Mammon clenched his hand, the ring popping out more prominently against his skin. His jaw tightened. Though, just before he could further get absorbed in his thoughts, a voice called out to him.

"Mammon?"

The said male was startled by none other than the brother he was waiting for. His eyes widened as he dropped his hand, momentarily forgetting about the ring. "Lucifer!"

"..." Lucifer's eyes flickered to the ring for a split second before back at Mammon. The white-haired demon looked away, shame filling his entire being although Lucifer never even said a thing.

A brief moment of silence passed before Lucifer closed his eyes.

"We should get going."

"...Yeah."
