Age Regression!

age regression isn't always cute! 🌸

i just want to leave a reminder that age regression is not always a cute thing! it's a mental defense mechanism, and therefore it won't always be sunshine and rainbows.

sometimes regression is sad- it's even scary. for example, when my mom or, god forbid, my dad yell at me, i tend to regress and panic and cry because it feels like all of a sudden i'm a child again and i'm scared because of the verbal and even sometimes physical abuse they gave me. it's a trauma response. it's scary and sad sometimes.

sometimes regression is sobbing and hiding under your blanket and clinging to your stuffed animals and using a pacifier and just wishing you could be happier.

sometimes regression is turning on a cartoon to try to block out bad thoughts.

just please remember that age regression isn't just a roleplay and therefore isn't always cute and happy, but that's still completely valid and healthy!

regression is here to help you, not just to be cute.
