"I have a better house, more money,
and I don't annoy her constantly."

He glares and looks at my suit

"I disagree, and-" I don't let him
finish because I'm too busy
to argue about his insecurities

"I'm sure you do, where is she?"
He looks behind me and then down
at the ground "I haven't seen her."

I roll my eyes and push the gun against
his chest, he keeps a scared look in his
eyes while I hold the gun in my hands

"I don't have a problem shooting you, Marceline doesn't care about most of
the things she used to,
and I doubt you're one of the things
she does care about," I whisper in a mocking tone, taunting him.

His eyes go cold while he looks into
mine, he leans closer to me and says

"Go ahead, shoot me, I'm not telling
you anything," I laugh and pull
the gun back, shooting him would just
make it harder to find her in this chaos.

He lets out a breath when I take a
step back, I keep letting dark
laughter leave my throat, it's difficult
to hold back, I barely manage to say

"That's brave, you do so much for the
woman you care about," I pause and
watch how furious I'm making him

"It's too bad she couldn't care less
about you." He clenches his jaw and
looks at the marble floor.

While I'm walking away—he says
"Aleksander!" I turn around,
assuming my plan worked and
he's going to tell me where she is.

A big smile grows on his face "You think
she cares about you?" well, she cares
enough to make a plan to kill me, telling
me she thinks about me, so yes I do.

"She doesn't care about most of the
things she used to, you said it yourself,
why would she care about you?"

I roll my eyes and laugh at his poor
attempt to make me feel worse.

It's possible that she doesn't care
about me that much, but if she cares
a little bit, I can work off of that,
feelings don't vanish into thin air.

I hear beeping coming from one of the
rooms I walk by, it must
be the game area, the worst place to go,
all they do is scam you and give you a headache which is why
it's probably where she would be at.

Before I can go in I hear an annoying
voice say my name in an even more
annoying tone. How does he manage
to find me everywhere I go, if it wasn't
so annoying I would say it's laughable.

"What do you want now?" he stops
smiling and tilts his head "Still mad?"

I thought I wouldn't want to shoot
anyone more than Gabriel
but he can't get under my skin like
the idiot in front of me can.

"You put a burnt corpse on my table and
then told me it was my wife, so yes, I am."
He tries to pat my shoulder
but I push his hand away before I can.

He sighs and runs a hand through his
slicked-back hair "Let's make amends,
and I was just proving that she is dead."

I would tell him that she isn't and that
I'm about to go find her, but that would
be trusting him with a massive secret.

I tilt my head and fake a large smile,
it convinces him enough to make him
smile "I knew you'd come around!"

He tries to hug me but I push him back,
enough to make him stumble "No,
I still don't like you, I'll see you in hell."
