Dana was the one that one would find staying up all night to observe the stars and sneak out of her house to avoid her home-schooled lessons just to skip down the Riverbend under the sun. She would be the one that kept her storms within her and showered others with kindness and smiles, the one that comforts others without a second thought, but finds it difficult to allow anyone to get to know her pain and get comforted.

It was five days after her 21st birthday when she had first found another person seating on the rock she was now occupying for this place under the wooden bridge had become her home of rest. A safe place she could be all she was. A place she somehow had thought as hers and hers only hence when she had first laid eyes on the young stranger, she had felt slightly threatened.

Sister Veta had come along pretty soon however and she had introduced him to her as the new seminarian that will be occupying one of the many empty rooms of the cloister.

Dana couldn't help but smile at the recall of their first meeting and she stood up and took some steps just to put herself in the exact same steps as her past self.

If someone was to tell her back then that she would end up falling head over heels for a seminarian she would have called them crazy. It was such a forbidden thing to even think about it. Jungkook certainly thought was a sight to enjoy for he was handsome and she had felt ashamed when she had first caught herself thinking over that fact.

How crazy could she be? To end up finding excuses to visit her friend Veta -whom she had known just a year ago as that was the timespan she had been in their village- just so she could end up hanging out around Jungkook too and have a chance to know him a bit more.

And how crazy was he, that would wait for her every day by this wooden bridge, hoping that she would visit the place and maybe spare a chat with him too.

The more they had gotten to know each other, the more Dana started longing for freedom. Freedom to be with him publicly, freedom to speak of her own feelings. Be able to utter her confession of love without worrying that even if he ever was to marry her, she would be putting his life in danger by making him part of a family that was in a vendetta.

But her love was hidden well and hence he will never know so it was gonna be okay, she had thought until the night he kissed her and made it known to her that he was for her as crazy as she was for him.

Happy days followed ahead and some inevitably consisted of the two making plans for their future and thinking of ways to be together somewhere far away from this place and the name on her shoulders that was a threat to her as much as it could be to him.

She had trusted him like no other for she had loved him like no other. She had let him in her emotions and her world more than anyone and had shared with him some of her most personal thoughts and feelings. Jungkook for her had been more than just a lover. He was the only one that had made her feel safe in her insecure life. He was the only one she could lean on and open up to, trusting that she would never regret it for he would never let her down.

It was that trust that had kept her waiting for him with so little contact for three whole years. It was that love that she held onto in her lonely nights while struggling to stand alone in a whole new ambient.

However, no matter how much one loves and trusts someone, time was bound to infiltrate those stable foundations, making her in a span of a year to be sleeping with the whispers of doubts in her ears and ghosts of what-ifs, scratching over her soul each night more.

The more time had gone by the more she had grown suspicious of everything and everyone, including Jimin whom Veta had introduced to her as a trustworthy individual that would have been assisting her till Jungkook managed to step down from his post as a seminarian and bid his farewell to the church.

Dana had tried her best to keep her suspicions at bay however when she had learned that Jungkook was freed from his obligations and had yet to run to her, she failed to contain herself from getting up and coming to search for the truth.

Why was he not going to her? Why had Veta been acting so distant and busy all the time and why he hadn't bothered to contact her for so long? All she had from Jungkook were some letters that he had sent and those were merely five in the span of three years.

Something was definitely not right and she could not hold back her raging turmoil anymore. Whatever was that had changed, he had to tell her himself. He had to face her and explain for she deserved an explanation. She had waited so long for him after all.

The thought that he could have regretted it, had always made her feel a stinking pain in her chest and this time she felt it twice as aching as she was thinking of having lost him in the place she had once loved him.

"You most likely don't come here anymore, do you?... You don't pass your nights reminiscing about me seated in this rock...and if you really don't...why...why I still can't seem to accept that outcome?" Dana murmured under her breath to the moving water as the sadness surfaced on her face. She stood there still a bit more only to soon realize that it was pointless to remain there so she fixed her hat and her scarf once more and started taking her leave.

She had to be careful for if anyone was to cross paths with her and recognize her, it could cause her much trouble but in order to find him, she had to wander around. After checking the time, she thought of passing by the school building that had a playground nearby. Once that Jungkook used to visit and play with the kids during their break time.

Her steps didn't take long to get her on a clear path and she followed it with some rapid steps and a head that couldn't stay still as she felt unsafe under the light of the sun. Her orbs would look around her often in search of some calmness, but no matter how many times she was to reassure herself that no eyes were on her, she left a breath of relief only when she found herself sheltered by the shadows of the big tree that was near the two floored school building.

Children were nowhere to be seen outside yet but Dana's ears had caught up to a conversation of two female voices as she made herself one with the body of the tree, and rested her head on it, once hidden safely behind it.

"What a feast the Kims threw yesterday. It was so much fun." A female teacher rested her hand over the window as she dusted her cigarette outside, allowing the smoke to escape into nature so no smell would be left within the office room they were in.

"Honestly it had been a long time since I hadn't seen people rejoice so much." The janitor of the school chirmed in as she was accompanying the teacher in her free hour and had taken upon her offer for a cigarette.

"How could one not rejoice when they literally managed to get a murderer out of prison in merely three years? I don't know what lawyers they had but certainly, that was a miracle that must have cost them thousands." The female teacher left her implication of corruption for it was inevitable to not be thought of, however, what had struck Dana's head was the information that someone from the Kim family had gotten imprisoned for taking someone's life and she couldn't help but assume that it had to be someone from her family that must have been the victim.

The thought made her heart clench for despite everything she still cared for her relatives and wished for their health.

"Maybe they cut him some slack because the young Kim is attractive." The janitor joked, making the teacher crack up in a wave of short laughter before she uttered words that literally froze the blood in Dana's veins.

"Jungkook was his name, wasn't it? I won't argue, his looks could tempt anyone to be lenient." Another peal of laughter rose in the atmosphere but this time around their voices had grown more distant in Dana's eyes as her world had literally turned upside down.

Not because she had just heard that Jungkook had been in prison. But because she had just gotten to know that Jungkook belonged to the family that had painted her whole life in blood.

He was an enemy. An enemy that she had been waiting for three years and had trusted on him blindly only to find out that, he had lied to her about the most important thing of all.

His identity.
