"You just don't get it, Sasha. You're beautiful, smart, and kind. Guys probably hit on you all the time. I really like Sebastian and, even if you don't have feelings for him, I think he might have some for you."

Sebastian was the goofy kid that I always teased. There was no possible way that he actually liked me. Right?

"What? That's literally insane. Our relationship isn't like that. If anything, he's more like an annoying little brother." I explained, hoping to extinguish her deluded thoughts.

"To tell you the truth, Sebastian and I hooked up twice. But, I don't want to be some simple fling to him. I actually want him to take me seriously." She sounded helpless, her face depleted of all hope.

I placed a comforting hand on her shoulder, feeling empathetic to her situation that somewhat paralleled mine. Suddenly, an idea appeared in my head.

"Wait, I have an idea. This weekend, a couple of friends of mine are going to Vermont for a ski trip. You should come and I'll invite Sebastian, too. There most likely won't be enough rooms, so I'm sure you two can share or something. I'll talk to him and put in a good word for you." Vivian's eyes lit up, as she reached over the table to clutch my hands.

"Thank you so much, Sasha. Sorry for being such a bitch earlier, I just get jealous sometimes. I promise it won't happen again."

"No worries, I know how it can be sometimes."

"I meant what I said about you and Kendall, though. You two would be such a fucking bomb ass couple. Just imagine how cute your children would be." She giggled and I couldn't help but smile in return.

Kendall and I were complicated. Even though we had a lot of history, time spent apart had caused us to become complete strangers to each other. I could admit that our first kiss had felt magical, but I was still involved with Caleb and I wasn't too sure where he stood with Patricia. Before anything could happen between us again, I would ask him to choose. It was either Patricia or me, but it couldn't be both.

After another twenty minutes of casual conversation, Vivian and I went our separate ways. We had exchanged contacts so that I could provide her with all of the necessary details for this Friday.

I was ready to have a good time and hang out with my friends. What could possibly go wrong?

Somehow, the week had flown by. Fortunately, I had taken extra measures to ensure I completed all of my work assignments ahead of their scheduled deadlines. Though I was now exhausted from the effort, it had afforded me the opportunity to leave my office early for the trip.

Ahmad had courteously arranged for the group to take his private jet directly to Vermont. He even went as far as to send each of us a driver that would chauffeur us to the airport we were scheduled to depart from. Perks of being the son to an oil tycoon, I presume.

From the rear window of the passenger seat, I watched as the driver took the ramp off the freeway and drove onto a barren road leading directly to the airport. Near the wing of the sleek black jet, I could spot Coco standing next to Ahmad. They were chatting with Sean and an unfamiliar woman. By the intimate way she leaned into Sean's hold and draped an arm around his waist, I figured that she'd been his fiancé.

After parking the car, the driver walked over to the passenger side and politely opened the door for me. I thanked him while providing a generous tip for his quality services. At the sight of the numerous bills I'd handed him, he expressed his belated gratitude, then proceeded to take my suitcase to the luggage compartment of the plane.

"You're finally here!" Coco called over, drawing the others' attention. "Where's Marco?"

"He had a last-minute request with a celebrity client, or at least that's what he told me. I think his plan is to meet us up there tomorrow." I explained, after giving her a hug.
