She's Hurt, He's Hurt

Start from the beginning

He watched her walk towards them with a smile of her own. He ignored the banter between the youngest Bunnymund son and Pitch. He was going to wait till she got in hearing distance to call her out but it never happened. His smile dropped right after her smile fell. He watched her stop, her back going straight before she looked around frantically.

"Seraphina?" He heard Pitch call out to her. He felt the wind change directions, slowly going through the area. He looked around at all the Seasonals who had stopped what they were doing. He noticed all of them looked confused as if they were lost in their own element.

"ROGUES!" He turned towards the scream of a Fall spirit. Rogue nightmares ran from the wood line in a speed faster than anyone was prepared for. No one had time to attack the three nightmares that were headed straight for Emily. He heard Pitch call out for her.

A feeling went down his spine, a chill that only danger could bring, as he watched his lover push the woman down. He knew he screamed out her name as the nightmare sand covered Seraphina in a tornado of sharp sand. Her scream echoed after his as the wind reacted to her pain.

For some reason, he heard another scream that he knew very well echo along the cold wind filling the area.

The Burrow

Ares had no idea what happened. They had made it to the center of the Burrow after their run, meeting up with Ridley and Bunny. He had felt the air shift as everyone looked around for the problem. No one had been able to even see a problem, only Elliot's scream of his grandson's name got their attention.

A terrible cut had formed on Jack's collarbone, one on his hand, and another above his eyebrow. Everyone watched in horror as the cuts on his skin that seemed to come from nowhere had black veins slowly growing from the edges. He watched Bunny ran towards the boy as he fell to his knees.

His ears folded at the sound of Jack's pained scream echoing across the Burrow.

For some reason, he heard another scream that he knew very well echo along the harsh wind.

Friday

Ares ran a hand over his face before he glanced back at the two beds in the medical wing of the Pole. He looked between the two, trying to see any changes that may have happened but nothing was happening. He had always wanted to ask Manny if this was something that could happen if Seraphina got hurt.

A bond was formed between Mother Nature and Jack Frost when her magic joined Manny's to bring him back. It was different from Manny's bond with the boy. Everyone knew Seraphina had never really been in fights, never had gotten hurt by anything ever since Jack came into the word as the leader of Winter.

The cuts that had formed on Jack's skin had come from the injuries given to Seraphina. The reason they both screamed was the force of the Rogues fractured Seraphina's wrist, giving Jack that same pain.

No one knew that if anything happened to Seraphina herself, it would happen to Jack. She had never gotten hurt before other than small little cuts in the wild. Jack wouldn't have noticed a difference on himself since he spent all of his time in the woods. It was a strange exchange. It was figured out by the rogue nightmare's obviously. They were becoming smarter.

Not even Manny had thought about this kind of bond.

He heard the whispers of a rogue coming from the bodies laying in the beds, it was snuffed out by the dream sand cocoon that surrounded the area. He was on watch of the two tonight.
