"I asked him an hour ago if he wanted something to eat but he just groaned and asked for you." There she was.

Archie lost track of the conversation as another cough went through him.

"This is not a good look for you, love." He whined. Yes. Archie whined. He let out the pitiful noise for two reasons. One, Jack had called him out for looking terrible. Two, Jack's cold hands brought tears to his eyes. He grabbed the sleeve of the hoodie in front of him before yanking the other down into the nest.

Archie would never admit to anyone that he practically climbed inside of Jack's hoodie. He felt more than heard Jack laughing as his head came out the hoodie hole before he laid his face in the crook of the cold neck.

"Put your hand on my neck before I bite you." He sighed, placing his forehead right behind Jack's ear as one of the cold hands massaged his neck. He lost track of time as his body shivered from the cold but he couldn't find it in himself to care.

Archie fell into an in between of awake and sleep as he focused on the rhythm of Jack's heart beat and his fingers running through his hair.

"Sometimes I'm beaten
Sometimes I'm broken
Cause sometimes this is nothing but smoke
Is there a secret?
Is there a code?
Can we make it better?
'Cause I'm losing hope"

Archie held his breath as Jack's voice flowed through the room. He felt the words being sang against his temple. He relaxed even further into Jack's body as he waited for the rest of the song. Jack was finally singing to him.

"Tell me how to be in this world
Tell me how to breathe in and feel no hurt
Tell me how could I believe in something
I believe in us"

He tilted his head, pressing his nose into the hoodie. He hid his smile in the fabric as he listened.

"After the wreckage
After the dust
I still hear the howling, I still feel the rush
Over the riots, above all the noise
Through all the worry, I still hear your voice"

Images of the nightmares they had recently fought against went through his mind as Jack sang about wreckage. They had healed physically but emotionally and mentally was not the case. Archie still had nightmares about fighting Jack.

He sighed as Jack pulled his hair a little to bring him back out of his mind.

"So, tell me how to be in this world
Tell me how to breathe in and feel no hurt
Tell me how 'cause I believe in something
I believe in us"

Jack having belief in him? In them? After all they had been through, that made stupid butterflies fill his stomach.

"Tell me when the light goes out
That even in the dark we will find a way out
Tell me now 'cause I believe in something
I believe in us"

The nightmares. The pain they went through together in the dark. They had found their way out-

He grunted as Jack pulled his hair again, getting him out of his memories to focus.

"Used to be kids living just for kicks

In cinema seats, learning how to kissRunning through streets that were painted goldWe never believed we'd grow up like this"

He snorted. They had never been to a cinema to kiss. The streets of gold could be racing through dreamsand though.

"So tell me how to be in this world
Tell me how to breathe in and feel no hurt
Tell me how 'cause I believe in something
I believe in us

Tell me when the light goes out

That even in the dark we can find a way outTell me now 'cause I believe in somethingI believe in us

I believe in something

And I believe in us"

Jack looked down to see Archie's eyes closed, with a soft smile on his face, but he was deep asleep. He brushed back the bangs off the fever heated forehead. He sighed as he looked up at the ceiling. He had been trying his best to keep Archie's mind off of what they went through with the nightmares but the other couldn't get his mind off of it.

He knew it was because of his past experience with nightmares that this time didn't hurt him as much as it should have. The only thing that hurt the most out of everything was seeing, hearing, and knowing that he had hurt Archie. He hated himse-

"Finally sang to him, kit?" He looked up to find Bunny leaning against the doorway. He nodded, he still didn't know how to act around his dad with Archie on him. He watched with tired eyes as the Pooka walked over. He leaned into the touch of the paw brushing back his hair.

"Are you gonna catch this sickness?" Jack nodded. It was the Seasonal sickness. It could only be transferred through the Seasonals. Even being immortal couldn't get away from illness.

"Can you make some of that family recipe soup that Eleanor made last time I was sick?" He watched Bunny smile before he nodded. He closed his eyes as sleep took him over, the feeling of Bunny's nose touching his temple.

Aster watched Jack fall asleep, his breathing slowly going deeper as both him and Archie settled in. He ran his paw over Jack's head one last time before running the same paw affectionately over Archie's head. He smiled at both of them before leaving the room.

He had two kits to care for now.
