We got to the reception, I mean I wanted to talk to him but he was on the phone with some humans from work so we didn't talk.
He got out and he opened my door for me, I mumbled a quick thank you and he grabbed onto my hand.
"Ready" he asked
"I mean the hard part is over so yes" I said
"What what the hard part" he asked chuckling
"Ummm getting married, wasn't sure if you'd actually marry me" I said
He stopped in his tracks and I realized I spoke too much, I mean he didn't need to know that I was scared that he would back out and I would be stuck again.
"What did you say" he asked with a frown on his forehead
"Umm no mhmm nothing, we should go. we are already late" I said fidgeting with his hand that was in mine
"Nandini I clearly heard you so what was that about" he asked
"Ma-manik it's"
"No, I'm not moving until you tell me what you just said and why it was said" he asked again
"Manik you are so late and that too at your own reception" it was cabir
I took a breath, I didn't know I was holding but I was so thankful for him showing up at the right time.
He dragged us in from the back and then we made this huge grand entry, I swear I couldn't even look ahead because people were staring right at me.
I looked down as we made our way to the stage where Manik grabbed the microphone.
"Good evening everyone, I am so happy and glad everyone could make it. Thank you for joining us in this celebration, I just have one thing id like to mention to the press and media. Id like to begin with letting everyone know I am a very private person and will not appreciate the media snapping us every second, so please respect my privacy" he said and I really appreciate it so much
I like my life to be private, I need it to be private especially with Manik because it's going to affect his business and him.
"Enjoy everyone" he said one final time and people cringed their glasses of champagne or whatever
He turned the microphone off and squeezed my hand a little, I looked at him and that little frown was still visible on his forehead
"Manik"
"Don't think I forgot your little sentence" he reminded me as we stood there
"I ummm"
"No don't stammer with me, I heard you and im upset about it but we are going to talk about it and I don't want you stammering when we talk"
"Umhhh I don't want you upset"
"I know but I am upset, forget it for now. Come on lets get you something to eat" he said
"Im not hungry"
"Shh, tell me what you want to eat" he asked we walked down to a table
"Bhook ni hai"
"You are one stubborn girl little one" he said
"But I"
"Shh not a single word" he siad and I nodded
I looked down at my feet, gosh my feet were killing me. It was like pins and needles, I felt like I was still standing on needles and Thorns even though I was sitting down.
"Kya hua" he asked placing his hand on my knee
"Kuch bui ni" I said placing my hand over his holding onto it
"You know this lying business is getting on my nerves little love and you continuing to lie isn't gonna pass with me, but you already know that don't you" he asked
I shivered a little when he called me little love, I have never had anyone call me with such names and endearment.
I really should be uncomfortable but his presence makes me comfortable, I stammer because I feel nervous about his reaction but he calms me down too.
"I asked you something Nandini" he said
"Umm sorry, mhmm yes I know that but im not lying on purpose" I told him
"And I am aware of that, now the thing im wondering is why do you then"
"I ummmn"
"Nandini you know that if we talk we can figure things out right?" He asked and I nodded
"Then talk to me, I understand it's all new, super new. I mean we have only known each other a week and we are married. Hell we are even going on a little prehoneymoon thing"
I could feel my cheeks getting warm hearing prehoneymoon, what the heckkk, ahh nandini stop blushing.
"Oh no no little love, do not bush right now. I am supposed to be upset at you and seeing your cheek turn my favourite colour isn't very helpful if I want to be upset at you" he sasd making me grin
So if I blush he will not be upset??
"Don't run your little brain, im still upset okay"
"Manik but"
"But what" he asked forwarding a forkful of noodles
i shook my head and he glared at me making me pout, I opened my mouth and get fed me.
It made me tear up a little when he fed me, and the fact that he ate with the same fork.
"Manik" we heard and saw this man standing there
"Hello uncle" manik said getting up
The warmth from his hand over my knee was gone when he got up and was talking to his uncle
Their conversation went on for a while, he introduced me too but I was a little nervous which was noticed by manik so he very smartly maneuvered the conversation to him again
"Nanu come on na lets go dance" mukti said coming to me
"Dance" I asked
"Yes chal na"
"But manik"
"Bhai sai permission leni padegi kya" she asked
"Umm wait ill let him know" I said and she nodded
"Ill see you at the dance floor okay"
"Yes ma'am" I said and she walked towards the floor
I tugged on manik's arm gently making him look at me
"Excuse me uncle" he said
"Of course, meet us at the bar" he said and manik nodded
He turned to me squatting down to my level for a second
"Yes my little love" he whispered making me smile fully
"Can I go with mukti"
"Mukti" he said looking up
"She came to ask me if I can go to the dance floor with her, so can I" I asked
"You don't need permission nandini, go on but be careful okay"
"Yes I will be and I will make sure muku is safe too"
"Thank you darling" he whispered
He bend down further and kissed my forehead
"I jsut have to talk to a few clients okay"
I nodded getting up, he held my hand for a second caressing my ring finger with the wedding ring.
"Be safe" he whispered again
"Umm hmm, ap bhi" he smiled making me smile
"Come on ill walk you there" he said
"No it's okay ap jao, ill go"
"You sure"
"Yes sir" I said and he chuckled
I made my way to the dance floor where mukti was, I did look back and found him at the bar with his clients or whoever they were.
