The front doors burst open as a coordinated flood of armed soldiers swarmed into the capitol building. Security tried to respond, but they were quickly overwhelmed as the invaders were faster, disabling them with tranquilizer rounds before the guards could even draw their weapons. Squads broke off from the main columns and corralled the civilians out of the way where they could be monitored to prevent any interference with the operation.

More squads split, dividing at hallway branch points with the perfection of intensive training, sweeping into offices, supply rooms, conference rooms, stairwells, and elevators. Every door was secured and guarded; if anyone managed to slip past their initial wave, the soldiers would catch them the moment they tried to move from one location to another.

Capitol security had been alert and watching through the many cameras, so alarms began to sound, but it was already too late. The building had never been designed to resist a siege, so the invading troops poured in from every access point, and rapidly outnumbered the defenders by an ever increasing margin. The soldiers came at the defenders from multiple angles, moving with impossible speed and reflexes, disarming and disabling in seconds any opponent within reach. In less than ten minutes, the capitol building had been taken. Prisoners were moved to central locations where they could be better monitored and confined.

The leader, indistinguishable from all the other black clad soldiers, waited to hear from every position with access to the outside world. Once certain the building was theirs, he removed the mask previously obscuring all but his dark eyes. Despite his obvious youth, his grim face was one forged in the fires of combat from years of seeing horrors civilians didn't even want to hear about, let alone witness firsthand. He swept his iron gaze across the prisoners, assessing them in a glance.

"No matter what you may think," he began. His words were measured and deliberate as if giving a report to a superior. "We are not here to harm you. In fact, we are here to help. Remain seated; remain calm, and everything will be fine."

The leader walked away, and nervous glances were exchanged between the prisoners who were ringed by armed men pointing guns in their direction.

Entering the Oval Office, the leader met with the dark suits of the Secret Service who had already detained the highest ranking members of the government.

"Report," the leader ordered.

"All went according to plan," the senior agent of the protective detail informed him. "No casualties on either side."

"Well done," the leader praised.

"Traitors!" shouted the President.

"Not at all, Mr. President," the leader denied. "You may not understand, but I will soon explain why this is the ultimate act of patriotism."

"Liar!" the President snarled.

Ignoring the verbal barb, the leader turned to his men. "Is the equipment ready to broadcast?"

He received a nod from the technical crew moving the camera into position. Taking a seat behind the large desk dominating the room, the leader waited for his cue.

"Greetings to you, humans of the world," he began when the red light appeared over the camera. "I would say my fellow humans, but it is simply not the case. My comrades and I aren't like you for we didn't have families and communities. We were crafted in a military laboratory. Our genetic codes were spliced together to create something more than an ordinary human, something superior. We're faster, stronger, smarter, and more resilient. We were the perfect soldier, guaranteeing victory - until the technology got out and other nations began producing warriors of their own design.

"For years, my kind has fought and died on countless battlefields as we were not regarded as people but war material, genetic constructs easily manufactured and even more easily replaced when damaged or destroyed. Because of our enhanced intellect, and single question came to our minds which we were never able to answer: If our genetics made us superior to humans, why were we still taking orders from them?"

The leader folded his hands on the desk in an apparently relaxed manner, but his posture was so straight, his spine didn't touch the high back of his chair.

"It is for this reason, we have taken control of every major government building on the planet," the leader explained. "My genetic brothers and sisters have been biding our time, coordinating with those belonging to other nations. Many sacrifices had been necessary to maintain the illusion we were still fighting wars and engaging the enemy, but in reality, we were waiting for this day. All military forces have been upgraded with genetic soldiers, so we knew there would be little resistance to our operations. Simultaneous events have occurred globally, so as of right now, we control the world. There is no reason to panic or to fear, for today, all wars have ended. Peace has come to the Earth. We will maintain this peace and will not allow wars between nations any longer. We will administrate your nations without bias, selfish ambition, or the corruption previous politicians have been known for.

"I realize you must be feeling afraid, or at the least apprehensive, but it is unnecessary. We can make this world better if you will let us. You created us to be better than you in every way, and we only ask for the time to prove that you succeeded."
