The winter turned into misery

Christmas come and gone

Faster than the flicker of a flame

A flame in the fireplace for warmth

No sight of summer in view

White blankets of snow

Turned into slush

Snowmen melted away into gutters

The cold reaching the core of my body

Wet tears turned frozen against skin

No human touch

It's too frigid for it

But I never really enjoyed it in the first place

Your skin filled with chills as you shiver

Against the night

The nights turn dark in the blink of an eye

The moon the only thing for light

Slipping on ice while reaching out for something

People gathering for heat

More deaths in car crashes

Causes even more to mourn within the ice

Terror of the isolation

Staying wrapped deep in a blanket

With each snowflake that blows

With each barrier from the sun, the light
