Past, Present, and Future

Start from the beginning

He flew over the last spot in Greenland when another touch of wind joined his. He stopped with a tense breath as his wind touched him but it wasn't his now. It was the feeling of his wind from a very long time ago. It was when his wind was just as sad as he was. He looked around in front of him before he felt a different chill in the air.

"What the hell." He turned around to find himself from the past. His hoodie was dirtier, his hair was knotted in the ends and messy. The circles under his eyes were darker and there were blood stains on his sleeves. Both versions of Jack looked over each other as they both tried to understand what this was.

"I'm dreaming. This is some sick dream." Past Jack spoke. His voice was dead with no emotion. Jack knew now this had to be sometime around World War 2. He knew then was his worst time because he watched death everywhere around him. It made him lose what little hope he had then.

"No. No you're not dreaming. This is real, I just don't know how." He watched his past self stare at him before really looking him over. He watched his hopeless self look over his staff, settling on the charms near the hook. He knew the raindrop from April, the Easter Egg from Bunny, and a horse from Pitch tied to the side.

"What's happening? I don't understand." Jack knew what was happening. He remembered the wish distinctly from last night, the one that had come true right in front of him. He could tell this was temporary by the feeling of the past wind slowly disappearing. It made him feel a little rushed. He didn't have that much time.

"I-I made a wish last night that my past self could see how good things are now. Apparently it came true." He watched his past self blink at him before blinking rapidly as his eyes started turning red. He bit the inside of his cheek as he waited for his past self to think about what was really going on.

"So... we made it to happiness? We found peace?" Jack's breath caught before he nodded.

"Yeah, we made it." He knew that's all he could tell his past self. He couldn't tell him anything that would change the course of the future he had now. His past self was going transparent which he knew meant leaving. He knew this would be like a dream to his past self. He hoped this wish wouldn't backfire to something in the past that would affect the present.

"What about Derek? Does he leave us alone?" Jack swallowed at the thought of Derek in general. His friend was living life with Mary and their kids. He took in a burn on the neck of his hoodie and knew why the question came up. He couldn't reassure him Derek would stop at some point soon.

"Our life becomes a dream that is hard to believe but everything is going to be okay. It's all going to be okay. Just keep going." His past self nodded before turning as if he were flying away but Jack knew he was going back to the past. He took in a deep breath before realizing that if his past self had shown up then where was his future self?

He shook his thoughts out as he focused back on his job. His future self would find him just like his past did. He took some deep breaths before leaving.

Friday Morning

Jack raised his staff above the Artic as he calmed a storm that was brewing in the ice. This global warming was tearing apart the seasons, making them harsher on the land. He had to calm many storms on his trip that he didn't plan on so his energy was less than he planned. He watched as the clouds settled and the air calmed before letting the wind rest him on the ground. He sat down for a rest before leaving.

"The energy loss gets worse." He jumped before turning around to find the future version of himself leaning against an ice cliff. He took in the way his future self looked and was surprised to see his hair was resting on his forehead, covering what looked to be a Pooka's mark. He had Bunny's family marking on his own forehead.
