"And when I'm feeling alone, you remind me of home. Oh baby, baby, Merry Christmas. And when the world isn't fair, I'll pretend that we're there."

—Taylor Swift, Christmas Tree Farm

WITH a wide and cheeky smile, Vester turns to his husband. He swayed their hands together and every time, he could feel Pavlo squeezing his hands wearing his warm smile. He giggles as he brings up their hands, kissing them before letting them rest on his cheek. Pavlo stopped walking as he looked at him with a confused face.

"Bakit?" he asked, face flushed at his blatant affection in the public. Pavlo has always known but he is still surprised every time Vester tries to do it.

The younger shakes his head. "Wala lang. Masaya lang ako. I have my husband all by myself tapos sinasamahan niya pa akong mamili ng Christmas tree para sa bahay namin. Ang cool niya, 'no?"

The older snickers, "Yeah. Syempre, kung ano ang magpapasaya sa'yo, go lang naman ang asawa mo. You know, he's the coolest and the sexiest man in—"

"Ang yabang! Wala akong sinabing gano'n. Assuming ka naman agad-agad," he interrupted as he tugged him to resume walking.

He heard the older stifle faintly. "Bakit? Hindi ba ako sexy?"

He rolled his eyes at him. "Oo na po. Sobra po. Bilisan mo na nga lang diyan. Ang bagal-bagal mo. Kapag maabutan tayo ng pagdagsa ng mga tao, kasalanan mo talaga."

"Ito na nga. Ako na ang pipili para mas madali. Ayan o, gusto ko ang laki niya. Katamtaman lang din ang taas. Perfect iyan sa may living room natin." Pavlo pointed the nearest Christmas tree he saw.

"Uh-uh! Ayaw ko niyan," he said without missing a beat.

Pavlo pursed a smile before tugging him to the next one. "How about this? Medyo malaki nga lang doon sa nauna. I don't think kaya ko itong buhatin. Buti sana kung ikaw ito dahil kahit gaano ka pa ka—ouch!"

"Umayos ka kasi. Nasa public tayo!" he scolded silently, pinching his husband's tummy.

Pavlo just nods, smiling a little. He pointed at the last section in the row. "Ayon, may nakita ako. I'm sure na magugustuhan mo iyon. Look..."

Vester made a face. "No! Mamili ka naman ng maayos. Ayoko ng ganyan. Hanap pa tayo ng iba."

"Tey, pare-pareho lang naman ang itsura nilang lahat," Pavlo complains as he tugged him to another section.

"Gusto ko 'yong perfect, Ampao,' he insisted.

"I'm not perfect but I am the perfect pair for you. Huwag ka nang maghanap ng Christmas tree na perfect. Matatagalan lang tayo—"

"My god, bebe boy! Mababatukan kita, makikita mo. Hindi pa tayo nangangalahati, nag-r-reklamo ka na!" he glared at him but he couldn't take his eyes off him. Not when Pavlo looks so hot in front of him right now.
