"kiyoomi! help me set up the tree, please?" hinata calls out. "yeah, do you have it?" sakusa asks as he walks towards the short male. "thank you" hinata responds. they spent the whole afternoon putting up the christmas tree and decorations, asuka helping of course.
when they were done putting ornaments on, hinata hands sakusa the star and sakusa hands it to asuka. sakusa lifts the child up and asuka carefully places the star on the top while hinata watches lovingly.
it was already night time and a little past asuka's bed time. hinata grabs the baby and places him down inside of his bed and placing a gentle kiss on his forehead.
hinata returns back to the living room and stops when he sees sakusa standing in place, waiting. "what are you doing?" hinata asks, smiling. "come here." sakusa responded. hinata walks to where sakusa is and stops in front of him. sakusa grabs shoyo by the waist and pulls him closer with a blush. hinata smiles and looks up at sakusa, catching a glimpse of something above them. he looks up and notices the mistletoe, placed so carefully on the top. they stare at each other for a minute, blush evident on both faces.
taking moments to just appreciate each other's embrace and beauty. hinata looks at sakusa's lips and sakusa looks at hinata's. they both look back and forth between their eyes and lips, and finally lean in. the kiss was soft but it meant something. something hinata was missing for years. love.
