He came out of the midst of the enraptured crowd, his torn cloak concealing most of his body and his heavy mask shrouding most of his face.

The two features Audra could see were his blue eyes- one was more electric blue and the other seemed quite cerulean- and the bangs nearly covering them. Audra couldn't help but conjecture that he put taking care of himself by the wayside. But why? It wasn't like he put much of his time into protecting and taking care of the pack.

Audra shook her head. She let herself think wrong again. The Alpha knew what was best for the pack; alphas always knew these things, right?

The crowd stood together silently. Very few whispered, but the audible whispers sounded in unison, almost.

Without so much as a warning, Alpha Enlil, the leader of the Aura Invisibilus extended his hand. This simple action sent a gust of wind onto the Alpha and the crowd behind him, blowing the Alpha's garments.

Audra notice his pretty nose before he quickly pulled the slipped mask back up onto it.

"Well, it's a fine morning isn't it, dear, Alpha Lapis Aleron?"

The Alpha nodded cumbersomely.

"Yes, but please call me Alpha Lapis," he said, accepting his hand.

Alpha Enlil withdrew his hand and clapped.

"Well, as you must know, this is my Beta, Monilia."

Beta Monilia extended her hand to the Alpha and he warily took it.

"How do you do?" She asked airily.

Audra thought she saw flash fear in the Alpha's eyes. She figured she was probably mistaken, especially if he showed no fear with the Alpha of the Aura Invisibilus pack, which he did not.

"Uhn... well enough. I guess?"

The beta moved away to shake a very enamored Beta Stanley's hands while the other alpha introduced his gamma to Alpha Lapis.

"Oh, and this is Gamma Jim!" he said excitedly.

The gamma peered down at the Alpha which made him look puny in comparison. They shook hands.

"Oh, Alpha Lapis," Alpha Enlil chimed, "I couldn't help but notice- where is your..."

Alpha Lapis finished his question with an answer, which later proved to be disconcerting for many.

"She passed away."

The other alpha looked befuddled.

"I meant your gamma..."

This time, Audra thought, their Alpha looked confused.

"...Yes?"

Alpha Enlil suddenly flashed a grin that could take the sight away from a brown-eyed youth. The skin around his milky eyes also crinkled in evident joviality.

"Well, let's plant my clothes and hope they grow into a clothing market! Your pack lets women have positions of authority now! How nice... Oh, sorry for your loss, by the way."

Alpha Lapis nodded.

"Yes, Gamma Bentley passed away three weeks back."

Audra sighed.

She rather missed Gamma Bentley.

Gamma Bentley, to her knowledge, hadn't a child of her own. She often read aloud to the children of the Terrae Mons pack after her mate died. She probably struggled to cope with the loneliness. Her behavior improved some with the reading, but after Alpha Lapis banned books, she never... acted quite the same. She did not seem happier even after Alpha Lapis gave her the gamma position two years ago.
