Y/n's POV:
It had been a couple of weeks since that night on the rooftop and I was incredibly relieved. Peter hadn't really brought it up since, and now we had something else new to talk about. I can't believe that my best friend didn't tell me that he was Spiderman! To be fair, I didn't tell him either.
I was currently at Peter's house and I had finally convinced him to watch Clueless. Believe me, It took a ton of convincing, he was surprisingly stubborn.
"What is this film even about?" he asked, while we waited for the popcorn to finish in the microwave.
"Its a Rom-Com, there's a girl called Cher, and one called Dionne. They also meet a new girl called Tai but to begin with, she doesn't really fit their vibe so they give her a makeover. Oh! There's also Cher's ex-step-brother..."
He looked at me, smiling and chuckling whilst he leaned against the counters.
"What?" I didn't know what he was laughing at.
"I just find it funny that you've practically memorised the plot of this film." He smiled.
"Well you better concentrate," I replied, "because afterwards I'm giving you a test!" I grinned as he shook his head, grabbing the popcorn, trying not to burn his fingers while I went to grab us some bowls.
"If your going to test me on Rom-Coms then you better be prepared to study all the Star Wars films." he retorted.
I walked over to him, carefully carrying the bowls when my socks slipped on the shiny floor and I felt my feet fall out from beneath me.
I was falling slowly, but my main focus was on the plates. I tried carefully to hold them, I didn't want to get yelled at, I didn't want Pete to get yelled at.
Luckily, I felt a hand slide under my back, and I saw another hand grab the plates and set them down, I had forgotten who I was with.
"Thanks," I gasped out, overwhelmingly relieved.
"Don't worry about it Y/n/n," he reassured me, his hand still placed under the small of my back, sending sparks shooting through my body and letting butterflies into my stomach.
That had been happening more and more often lately, his hand would brush past mine in class, or he would bring me a drink after a long night of patrol and every time I would feel my cheeks flush bright pink.
I wanted to tell him how I felt about him, I thought as we sat down on the couch and pressed play on the movie.
I did want to tell him, but there was also a nagging voice in the back of my head, my "father" 's voice. I didn't want to listen to it, but It was hard to ignore the screams in my head.
"It's not like you've got a boyfriend. Nobody could love your ugly, scarred body."
Trying to shove it to the back of my mind, I rested my head on Pete's chest and felt my eyelids grow heavier and heavier.
Peter makes me feel safe.
