Rubbing my eyes and stretching slowly, I woke up leaning against the wall in complete confusion. Why didn't I sleep in my bed? It may be a bit old and the springs did press against my back, but it was the only actually decent thing that my father had given me. It was then that I remembered, it was then that the pain in my back returned.
Tossing on my softest shirt and hoodie, I snuck out of the apartment and headed to school.
I couldn't find Harriet during my lunch break, so I found myself sitting in the bathroom texting some adult strangers that I'd never actually met. Great.
