Lights Out

7 2 2

They took our lights away
leaving us with this dark cloud,
our voices silenced and trampled
our view obstructed.

They took our lights away
clothed in pitch black robes,
our memories gone like ashes
whoever remembers
let us know.

They took our lights away
like Babylon did to Judah,
our echoes are useless
they were heard before
but not anymore.

They took our lights away
leaving us with tears
tears that never dry up
where would we turn
in this darkness so thick.

They took our lights away
like wolves devour sheep,
they never did care
our lights have gone out
leaving only grey skies
