CHAPTER 17: Meeting

" So what did you call me for?"

" And who is that twerp over there?" He eyed me suspiciously

I took this as my chance to trounce myself to him. Forming a good relationship with him will prove to be beneficial for both of us in the future

" It's nice to finally meet the widely known artifice Gideon" I said politely

" I am the son of the commoners Alice and Reynolds Leywin, Arthur Leywin" I finished my introduction with a polite bow

He looked at me for a little while, narrowing his eyes as much as he could

" You sure you are not some kind of prince?"

" One hundred percent" I deadpanned

" hahahahah, Cynthia, I like this guy!"

After that, the three of them took some time to greet each other

Needless to say, Gideon was surprised to see gramps here, but that didn't stop him from trying to persuade gramps into investing in one of his projects

Now we were all seated around the main table in the room

Director Goodsky brewed us some tea and now we were about to begin our meeting

" Now then, I shall explain why did I gather all of you today" I began

Everyone was looking at me with anticipation. The people that were present here tonight were all the elite, except me, so it isn't surprising that they want to know what is this all about

" As you all know, the Royal families have recently discovered the existence of another continent" after I mentioned it Gideons and Virion's eyes went wide

Nobody except the Royal families and a selected few individuals should be aware of this fact, and yet, here is an eleven years old boy talking about it like it is the most common gossip on the streets

" Arthur, how do you know about that?" Virion asked me with a serious expression

" Because even before I met Tess and you, I encountered one of their mages"

" !!!"  Virion couldn't even hide his surprise

Gideon looked as if he is lost in thought while Cynthia just listened silently

" When I was training with my master, Sylvia, one day he just appeared and attacked us" I looked at them and made sure that everyone was listening before continuing

" Usually my master would be able to kill him without any effort, but she was already gravely injured and on the verge of death"

" She used the last bit of her power to send me away and give her will to me, which resulted in her death" I finished my story

" Arthur, do you know anything about that mage?" Gramps asked

" Yes..."

After sighing due to remembering some unpleasant things I continued my story

" He was a Scythe, Cadell Vritra, a lesser with the blood of the Vritra clan... and also the strongest ' lesser' in Alcarya"

After that, I proceeded to explain to them everything I know about Alcarya and their Sovereigns, the Vritra clan

Of course, with explaining about them I had to tell them about Asuras as well, and the deal between the two sides

" That sure is a lot..." Gramps muttered

After being quiet for a while, Gideon decided to start speaking

" I was wondering this for a while but... why do you look unsurprised by all of this, Director?" He narrowed his eyes at the director Goodsky after finishing his question

Cynthia looked at them reluctantly before deciding to speak

" Because... I am a spy from Alcarya" She said with shame

*DOOM*

Suddenly Gramps started emitting a huge amount of bloodlust

" Explain yourself, Cynthia" he said in a cold, emotionless voice

She looked down for a minute before tightening her grip over her robes and starting to speak

" Decades ago I was sent to Dicathen as a spy. During the years of my life here I came to care about the people of Dicathen, so I decided to betray my homeland and help the Dicathen prepare and win the war"

" But then why didn't you tell us anything about them so far?" Anger was basically the only emotion present in gramps's voice

" Because before I left Alcarya a curse was placed on me, the one that would kill me if I even try to say anything about them"

She paused before continuing

" But thanks to Arthur, the course is broken"

After that, she told us everything that she knows about the enemy

Honestly, she knew far more than I did, but there were still some pieces of information that she left out or didn't know

" Actually, there are some things that changed since you left the Alcarya" Now even the director looked at me curiously

" Currently there are five Scythes in Alcarya, Cadell, Seris, Dragoth, Melzri, and Viessa. There are also rumors about the new Scythe in training, but there are no further informations on this,matter " I explained and everyone looked at me wide-eyed

What I said just now is that they have at very least five mages that have gone beyond the white stage and that there is a possibility of the sixth one emerging soon

But that is not all, this also means that there are at very least ten white core mages among the enemy troops

" This... this is bad"

" Not only do they have more mages than us, but they even have five mages that could each almost singlehandedly wipe out our Lances" Gramps said, but immediately covered his mouth after realizing what did he just say

" Don't worry Gramps, I already know about them" I reassured him and now we continued our conversation

I explained how I have already wiped out multiple Alcaryan camps and how I stole some of their Artifacts

I gave them to Gideon so he could analyze them

He was amazed by them from the moment he saw them

' Papa, I found one of their bases ' Sylvie informed me through our bond

" My bond has just informed me that she found one of the bases of the enemies in the beast glades, do you want to check it out?"

They all looked at me suspiciously

" How do you intend to go to the glades now?" Gramps finally asked

" Like this" I said as I channeled aether through the godrune

The portal to the Sylvies location appeared right in front of us

Everyone's mouths were so wide open that I was afraid that they might eat some bugs while they are in shock

" Let's go" I said as I entered the portal and everyone followed me closely

We just finished killing the last of the Alcaryan mages

Gramps and Cynthia were discussing the best tactics to deal with them while Gideon was looking for new artifacts among the corpses

" I see... it will be hard, but I think that we should be able to deal with them"  Gramps commented while Cynthia just confirmed it by nodding

" We should inform the Royal families about this as soon as possible" Gideon said after he came back

I looked at him for a while before lowering my head and sighing

" We can't do that... how do you think that they have gotten to this continent?" A seemingly simple question made everyone in the room look at me with terrified expressions

" Arthur... you don't mean that...?" Director Goodsky asked fearfully

" That's right... the Royal family of Darv, the Greysunders, have betrayed us"
