Once Upon A Time In Paris

Midnight and long drives

"I don't need the phone for him. I never said that" Jisoo replies and her voice cracks trying to hold back her tears

"Really? Why do you need a phone right now then? I see no other explanations" he replies not trusting her

"Because I am scared" Jisoo replies and her face becomes red from trying to hold back all these emotions

"I want to talk to my best friend in Korea. I am scared and I need her. And I have no way of reaching her other than my phone" she replies and turns her back to  him. She can no longer hold her tears but she also can't let Taehyung see her cry.

Taehyung feels pity for the first time. He overreacted, he doesn't even know why. When he saw Jisoo being scared inside the house, he became worried for her but it immediately turned to rage when he thought that it was all because of Jungkook

But he was wrong. It wasn't because of Jungkook, not once did she mention his name.

He suddenly realizes that though he is engaged to her, he knows nothing about her, about anyone in her life. This girl faced the hardest questions today and aced it like a champ. Maybe the entire experience overwhelmed her and all he did in return is scream and shout at her

He doesn't know what to do, he is in the wrong here, she just wanted her best friend by her side. No one here is her own and he just made the situation even worse.

"I am scared and lonely and I tried so hard to impress each and everyone in there and all you did was slam the car and shout at me" Jisoo says trying to wipe her tears and but of no use

Taehyung doesn't say anything. He takes big steps forward, grabs her hand making  her crash against his body and holds her like that for a while

This takes Jisoo by surprise, one moment she was crying alone and the next, she is hugging him. She can feel him slowly fondling with her hair with one hand while his other hand caresses her waist.

Jisoo gives in to him, she holds him tightly, pushing herself further into him. She doesn't stop crying rather this act makes her cry even more.

Taehyung tries to calm her down but he doesn't know how to calm his heart. She is holding him tightly, not wanting to let go. His heart doesn't want to let go either. He keeps patting her waist and closes his eyes

He finds an unusual sense of comfort by hugging her and he wants to stay like this forever

"It's all going to be fine" he says slowly

"I didn't mean to cry" Jisoo slowly starts pulling away being embarrassed of the fact that she held him so tightly

Taehyung sees her blushing intensely and it gives his heart a little peace knowing that she doesn't only blush for Jungkook

"Get in the car, we'll go and buy a phone" he says

"It's fine. We can buy it tomorrow. It's already quite late. Let's go home. I just want to rest" Jisoo replies

"Are you sure? We can still go. Late night isn't a problem for me. I can make a few shops open up if you need it now" he says

"I am okay now. We'll just get it tomorrow" she replies and sits in the car

Taehyung takes his phone out and texts someone. He wants to make sure that Jisoo gets a new phone the moment she wakes up tomorrow. He was unfair today and it is a way of saying sorry.

"I am just making things even, nothing else" he says to himself and gets in the car too

As Taehyung is driving, Jisoo looks at him

"You're dropping me off?" she asks in a low voice

"Yes" he replies

"And then?"

"Then what?" he says while driving

"You'll leave, right? Then you'll leave. Maybe to your girlfriend. Isn't that right?" Jisoo asks

Taehyung doesn't reply because that's exactly what he intended to do. Irene saw them together and she must not have liked it at all. He wants to check in on her

"Your silence is speaking way louder than your words. You'll drop me off like a burden and visit you girlfriend and spend the night there" Jisoo says and looks out the window, not even expecting a reply

She watches the view as it slowly starts raining, blurring the window, making her vision hazy. But she lost focus a long ago.

"Stay the night with me" she says as quietly as possible. As if she was talking to herself but Taehyung hears her

"Stay with me tonight. Your house is so big that it feels empty when I am all by myself. Just tonight. I'll sleep anywhere you want me to, I'll shift my things from you room to the guest room" she says in the same quiet manner, it feels as if she is talking to herself, looking out the window

"Just tonight. I feel.... I feel weird. I don't want to be alone" she looks at him while saying the last sentence

Taehyung wants to change his mind but he knows that he can't. He did mess up a while ago but that doesn't change facts, that doesn't change who Jisoo is and how she is only after his money and family. It changes nothing

"I don't want to stay in the same house with someone like you" he replies without looking at her

Jisoo looks out the window again, the inside of the window has become hazy too. She traces her fingers aimlessly at the fog

"Fair enough" she replies not knowing if Taehyung even heard it or not
