Last Resort

"Marry me" Jisoo says as a last resort

Taehyung stops and looks back, "What did you just say?" he asks

"Marry me, Jungkook isn't here today but I won't make any promises that he won't be with me in the future. This is the only way to stop me. You want to take me away from Jungkook, right? Then bring me closer to you" Jisoo says and walks towards him

"Think about it, it's a win-win situation for both of us, I get a rich husband and you get yourself a pretty entertaining wife" she replies

"You'll regret it" he replies

"I want you to make me wife, to introduce me to everyone, your family, your friends, I want you to take me to your office, show me off like a trophy wife, I want others to be jealous when they see our couple. I want it all, expensive gifts, travelling around the world, the finest wine and everything else. You can give it to me and in return, I'll stay away from Jungkook" Jisoo starts negotiating

"So, it is all about the money? There will be zero affection and love between us, will you be able to survive such a marriage? I will introduce you to everyone and they'll be jealous of us but behind close doors, I won't give two shits about you, I won't love you. Is this the kind of marriage you want? Just for the show?" Taehyung replies

This is the last thing Jisoo ever wanted, a loveless marriage, just like her mother's. But she has no choice, this is just a stepping stone to bigger goals

"I don't expect you to love me, you barely look at me. I just want a secure future, and you can give me that. I don't care about anything else" Jisoo replies

"How am I going to trust you that you won't run after Jungkook even after all these?" Taehyung asks

"You have to, you have no other choice" she replies

Taehyung walks towards her "There will be an engagement but no marriage till Jungkook and Lisa gets married. I'll introduce you to everyone, you'll be considered as my family member, you'll stay with me in my penthouse but I won't have any feelings for you so don't have your expectations high. As my fiance, you'll stay away from Jungkook, you'll treat him like a starnger" he says

Jisoo suddenly feels as if everything is getting real, he is convinced. But staying away from Jungkook will tear her apart. She is making such a great sacrifice while looking at the bigger picture

"Deal" she replies

Taehyung knows what he is getting himself into. But when you thnk about it, he wins in every way in this situation. He is not obliged to show any kind of sentiment or endearment to Jisoo, he isn't bound to any emotions

He places his hand inside his pockets and brings out a ring box. He bought it for Irene today as an apology gift for what she had to witness last night. He took 1 hour to pick this ring but it probably never belonged to her

Taehyung takes Jisoo's hands "Think again, you don't get to back down after this" he says

"Wait we're doing this now? I mean-- well uhh, I don't..." Jisoo doesn't know what to do. She never thought that he'll have a ring with him

"Use all my money you want but stay away from Jungkook" Taehyung says

Jisoo looks at him, she is getting engaged, at the middle of the night, with the person she hates the most. Taehyung starts taking her gloves off of her hands.

Jisoo takes a deep breathe in, she has not only succeeded but has done better than she thought she'd do. She finally gets to be a part of the Kim Family

Taehyung thinks twice before putting the ring on but he finally does so and to his surprise the ring fits her as if it was made for her fingers. That's it, he is engaged to her

But just like Jisoo, he hides a mask of his own. He won't get married to her. After Jungkook and Lisa gets married, he'll throw Jisoo aside. She's too naive to think that he'll give her a secure future. He is using Jisoo for his sister just like Jisoo is using him for money

The only person that is spinning in his mind is Irene, how will he make her understand?

He gets worried about the impulsive decision he took and he needs to be the first one to explain this to Irene, he needs to tell her the entire situation hoping that she'll understand. He won't ever marry Jisoo, she will never get to be his wife.. Fiance? yes. But wife? That title is only for Irene. This is all his game and once it ends, he'll undo everything

Jisoo looks at the ring, this is the most beautiful thing she has ever seen.

"Where are you going?" she asks seeing Taehyung walk towards the door

"I'll ask my driver to drive you to my penthouse. You'll stay there from now on. I'll introduce to my family tomorrow. You'll get a car and a credit card of your own. Do whatever you want to do with them" he says and walks out

"You're going to that girlfriend of yours, aren't you?" Jisoo asks but he doesn't listen. He has already left

"Well that girlfriend of yours will pay too, go and console her all you want. I don't need your love and affection, for God's sake. Give it to your Irene cause these are the only days she'll have them" Jisoo thinks to herself and leaves too

Outside there is no sign of Taehyung, he has already left. But there is a car waiting for her, a driver walks out

"Miss Jisoo? I'll drive you to your new house" he says and opens the door

Jisoo gives him a warm smile "Thank you" she says and gets in.

As soon as Jisoo gets in the car, she takes her phone out and deletes everything related to Jungkook, his number, his texts.

She has nothing to do with him, he is a distraction. His family has done nothing wrong to her and thinking about him will only bring her farther from her goal. She has to let him go. But little did she know that it isn't possible to let go of ones' emotions so easily

This is a new beginning for her, she has everything planned out. She just needs to execute it properly. She takes a drafted email out, it took her 3 hours to write this email, she reads it again and again making sure that everything is perfect and there are no loopholes and finally sends it to the recipient hoping to hear back from them

She then dials another number "Hello? Is this the executive director of Le Monde?" she says as soon as the other person picks up

"I have an exclusive information, big enough to make the front page tomorrow" she says and after speaking in details with the person, she hangs up

She pulls the window down and throws her phone out of it, and with that she removes all the traces of her past.

From now on, she is only Kim Jisoo, fiance of the most eligible bachelor in paris. This is her new begininning and from here onwards, she'll be extra careful about her moves. She rolls the windows up and sits gracefully

"can you play a song?"

"Any recommendations ma'am?"

"All the good girls go to hell. Full volume please"

She looks out the window while humming the song and watches the view of Paris. Her sweet revenge on Paris is on it's way and she'll serve it cold
