Not only did she find the Avatar then completely abandon him after, she left him alone with some injured kid who she felt partially responsible for. She contemplated going back to right her wrong, but there was no telling how quick she'd run into those soldiers again. She wasn't even sure whether she'd gotten them off her tail or not.
After seeing her and Avatar's once masked acquaintance in all his glory, she darted into the trees, trudging her belongings with her and holding her cloak close to her body to avoid being caught on low-hanging branches. Though the only footsteps she heard were her own, she wasn't going to take any chances.
