Merlin nodded, "Indeed. You can probably meet up with them later."

Ryuga nodded, "Got it."

The wizard took another breath, "Ryuga, about the... false Apoptosis you fought."

That caught his attention, "Yeah?"

Merlin put on a serious face, "We might have a bit of an issue."

Ryuga blinked, "Wait, what?"

The wizard summoned his staff and tapped it on the ground, then the two vanished.

They quickly reappeared in a secluded area outside of Eisen, and Ryuga blinked, "Why'd you bring us out?"

Merlin sighed, "Because Karl isn't a man to be trusted when it comes to things like this. He is ambitious and can be easily prone to tunnel vision, and tends to do things without much thinking."

Ryuga smiled dryly, "I can see that."

The wizard shook his head, "Anyway, back to the topic at hand. You remember the prophecy we mentioned, yes?"

The hero nodded, "Yeah, some form of calamity will befall upon us in a few years from now."

Merlin nodded, "Indeed. I suppose you'd be familiar with demons by now."

Ryuga nodded, "Sort of."

The wizard chuckled, "You fought one in Ikazuchi, then cleansed Yogoe of their curse. Those are demons."

His smile dropped, "The calamity comes in similar manner. The prophecy states that demons will run havoc across the lands, razing everything to the ground."

The hero nodded, "That's why you summoned the three of us. To defend this world."

Merlin nodded, "Yes, but I've recently discovered something... Troubling."

Ryuga blinked in confusion, "Yeah?"

The wizard made a complicated face, "In the past, the demons were always mindless creatures, calamities brought forth by the natural laws of the world. But this time around, it seems to be different."

Ryuga sighed, "Please don't tell me its an army of demons..."

The wizard smiled sadly, "Unfortunately yes. We don't have the specifics yet, but the teams consisting of personnel from Yogoe, Ikazuchi and Pendragon have determined that the upcoming calamity will involve demons with intellect, not unlike the ones you've fought."

The young man folded his arms, "I see... So they'll be similar to the one fought in Ikazuchi."

Merlin nodded, "Yep, and that's not including the False Apoptosis you fought before. The leaders of Pendragon, Ikazuchi and Yogoe have all agreed to keep an eye out, as you are travelling around the continent more, I'd suggest you do the same."

Ryuga nodded, "I will."

He then asked, "What about Eisen?"

Merlin made a complicated face, "About that, Karl is a... shall we say, difficult man. We will inform him, of course, but it is a bit of a sensitive issue at the moment."

Ryuga quickly remembered their prior conversation, and he nodded, "I can sort of understand that."

The wizard nodded, "We will figure out a way to get him in the loop, without having him cause too much trouble. So please leave that to us."

Ryuga sighed, "Fine..."

Merlin smiled, "Good, now I've said my piece, and I believe the party starts in 30 minutes, so you might want to get going."
