Echo: I kept myself busy, and it was honestly a lot more preferable than being a soldier in the Octarian army.
Marina: You bet it would be!
Callie: I haven't ever had to hide away for a few years, but I can agree that it's probably a lot better. (They talk.)
Marie: You guys make it sound like working with the Octarians is complete torture. It honestly can't be that bad. (She casually crosses her arms.)
(The three of them turn to stare at her.)
Echo: Please tell me you're joking.
Callie: I don't think she is. (They're highly confused.)
Marina: Don't you remember what they do to their soldiers?
Marie: Of course. Mind control. (Marina gets up.)
Marina: Yeah! You become mindless! A puppet! You don't think, you just do what you're told! (Marina looks pretty aggravated.)
Marie: That honestly sounds like a good way of keeping complete order and getting things done. I wouldn't do it, but I understand why Octavio does that to his soldiers. (She shrugs.)
(Marina looks offended.)
Marina: It's not so effective if it makes all your soldiers want to run away! It's not a good way of keeping the order at all! (She looks mad now.)
Marina: And would you like to be in a situation like that? Being forced into submission and fighting people against your will? (She kind of gets in Marie's face, annoying her.)
Marina: You don't think that sounds horrible? (Marie isn't very happy with Marina getting up in her face.)
(Marie suddenly gets up and slashes her hand across Marina's face. Callie and Echo are shocked at the outburst.)
Marina: O~owwww! What was that for? (She holds a hand over the spot, some ink is coming out from the spaces between her fingers.)
Echo: [muttered] Come on, we'd better get that dealt with. (They walk off, Echo glances at Marie unsurely.)
(Marie stays standing, still on edge. Callie just stares in shock.)
Callie: Marie... what the heck was THAT?
Marie: I'm sorry, I didn't mean to hit her like that! I was just trying to make her move back. ANd I was just trying to get her to stop with all the jokes and touching. What's wrong with that? (Callie stands up, Marie crosses her arms and turns away, but a bit embarrassed about what she did.)
Callie: What's wrong with that? Are you kidding me? (She nervously laughs.)
Callie: You can't just push someone like that to make them stop! If you wanted her to stop, you should've told her.
Marie: But this way, I KNEW she was going to stop.
Callie: Marie... (They talk.)
Callie: *sigh* Marie, please, I'm worried about you. Just tell me what's going on with you. I- I wanna help! (Callie looks down, eyes closed.)
(Marie stops.)
Marie: It's not something you can help me with. Trust me, it's nothing you'd understand. (She slightly looks back.)
Callie: Then at least talk to me. Maybe... that can help you feel a little better? (She sits down.)
Marie: Fine. (She also sits.)
(They're both silent for a moment.)
Marie: Aren't you just... tired of all this?
Callie: Of what?
