The beast was huge! Bigger than the houses back on Skyloft. The monstrous demon was also covered in white fur, large tufts of it around his neck. His face was sort of monkey-ish, and he had two large, glistening fangs protruding from his mouth. His tail was covered in spikes made of sheer ice. He glared at the two with his dark green eyes, as he let out roaring shriek. The shriek shook the ground, snow sliding out from under their feet. Link stumbled, trying to regain his balance.

"W-woah.... Ghirahim, what is that?!" Ghirahim just stared at the beast, a mask of pure shock upon his face. The bared his sharp claws, raising his paw into the air, preparing to strike. Link had to act quick! He sprinted to his sword, shoving him out of range of the attack just as the monster's paw crashed onto the snow with incredible force. Ghirahim shook his head lightly, coming out of his "trance". He wrapped his arms around the skychild, making Link's face flush furiously, and he teleported them back to the cave.

The two lay on the cave floor, breathing heavily. The harach was trying to crawl up Link's tunic to hide. "Ghirahim... What was THAT?" "A powerful demonic monster feared by many. It's shriek puts a selected target into a trance-like state, as I'm sure you've noticed." Link nodded, and Ghirahim continued. "It's the only one of it's kind, and it's very rare that anyone comes across it. But to anyone who is unfortunate enough to cross it's path, a painful end follows. It is unknown whether the beast can be defeated or not." Link pulled the little harach from his clothes, considering their options. "It will leave the shrine, right?" "That, I am unsure of. Even if it left the shrine, it will likely linger in the surrounding area. I'm afraid approaching the place is extremely dangerous." "So what to do...? Hmmm..." Ghirahim watched the harach hopping around playfully. An idea came to mind. "I may know of someone who could possibly help. An old friend of mine resides in these mountains. He may know of a way around this complication." "Then let's find him." The harach jumped into Ghirahim's arms, not wanting to be left behind. It licked the demon's cheek, who held it away from his face. "I do not approve of licking." He held onto his master, and teleported the three of them to a new area of the mountains, in search of his friend.
