"I am asking you for your honesty now."

"My honesty will ruin you." I replied.

"So then ruin me, ruin me as much as you want."

His head got even closer to mine, his lips tightened together. "Come on, darling." He whispered the last word so quietly that I could've missed it, he was begging me and I was lost for words.

I was thinking of what I should do, I've already lost so much am I willing to lose the man I love? I don't know.

My eyes fell to his lips, and my brain and heart were fighting amongst each other. My lips slammed against his not being able to hold myself back any longer, his hands immediately fell to my waist where he gripped me even closer to him.

My hand wrapped under his arm and my other hand touched the back of his neck, it was all too similar and finally, I felt like I was home again. His lips moved slowly against mine savoring every taste of mine and memorizing my very touch.

My back was suddenly pressed against the wall, his hand grabbed my thigh and placed it against his torso. I lifted myself a little higher against his body, it all felt like a feverish dream. This kiss was 6 months in the working, it held our sadness, our anger, our happiness, our confusion, it held it all.

We pulled apart, our lips still touching together. My thumb touched his bottom lip which was stained with my dark lipstick, we both were breathing hard. His hand was tangled in my hair, and his eyes were controlled by my beauty.

I was in such a deep daze that my eyes were just fluttering repeatedly, everything flew out the window just now and I didn't know whether that was a good thing or a bad thing.

"Meet me at midnight inside the horse barn." He said, his height again towering over me. "If you don't show up then I'll leave you alone, forever."

My door knob started twisting, we had time to back away from each other and try to act casual. He wiped his lips with the back of his sleeve, Jules fumbled inside with a huge smile but once her eyes fell on us they slipped from her lips.

"I'm sorry if I interrupted." She said, swallowing whatever was in her mouth.

He glanced at her with a tight smile, and he playfully shook his head. "No, of course not. I was just leaving."

He swiftly exited the room, my body was still stunned by what just happened. Jules closed the door before turning to look at me with wide eyes, I cleared my throat awkwardly.

"What just happened?" She asked.

I trust Jules, and so does my brother.

"I missed the sound of his voice, isn't that crazy?" I whispered, my legs carefully carrying me over to my bed where I sat.

She moved closer to me, sitting right next to me. Her hand touched mine that was sitting above my knee, her other hand combed a strand of my hair behind my ear. I stared at the floor beneath us, my shoulders were hunched over slightly.

"You love him, of course, you'd miss his voice." She said.

I turned to look at her, was it that obvious? Her soft hand hovered against my cheek, her smile was so loving and comforting.

"I don't know exactly what love is, my parents were never the loving type." I replied.

"Mine neither." She said. "But when I met your brother we both learned and accepted the fact that we were capable of loving each other."

"Were you scared?" I asked, it was silly but it's always been my greatest fear to love another person because when you open up to those types of emotions, it's a lot easier to get hurt.

She laughed, and her eyes were gleaming. "I made a contract stating if he ever broke my heart then he'd have to pay a fine."

I chuckled a little. "Did he sign?"

"He signed and dated every page that same day and he's never broken the contract."

You could see how her eyes change when she talks about my brother, it's like the love is swirling in her eyes. I looked back at the floor before exhaling, it's a strange position I'm in.

"My brother-"

"Your brother will be fine, he just wants you happy. That's all he's ever wanted." She said.

"He doesn't like him." I mumbled under my breath.

"He will once he sees that gleam in your eyes that I see right now."

I have that same gleam she has, and it's terrifying because I know deep down how I truly feel about him. She suddenly stood up, and her hand slowly left my cheek. Her eyes lovingly stayed on me, she was only a few inches away from me.

"You've been through so much and you've sacrificed a lot for your family." She said. "Things a little girl should never sacrifice."

My eyes start to get watery again, my hand touched my lips thinking about my family and my sacrifices.

"You deserve to be happy Talitha, just like everyone else."

She walked to the door and exited my room leaving me alone with my thoughts, what she said was right. I have sacrificed a lot for my family, I've done everything, down to having sex with a man I could never truly love. I deserve to be happy for once in my life, if I don't save myself no one will.

I don't know where my loyalties lie, my family or the man who makes me question everything.
