I rushed out of bed crying.

I made sure that the wireless monitor was placed perfectly to monitor Ravi. I'll ask the available maid to keep an eye on her while I'm away.

But even before I could even step on the last stair, I saw a shadow coming towards me. Even without seeing who it was, I already knew it was him.

I lifted my eyes to see him as I rushed towards him. Mas lalo akong napaiyak.

"You fucking idiot!" I blurted out as I punched his chest.

"Why are you still up?" He asked as his eyes widened when he saw me crying. "Why are you crying?" He didn't notice at first because it was dark in here.

"What's wrong?" He's panicking now. "Lav, what's wrong? Stop crying, please."

I sobbed harder as I hugged him. Kitang-kita sa mga mata niya ang gulat. I cried harder on his chest when I felt his fingers brushing my hair.

"Shhhh..." He hushed me. "Tell me what's wrong," mahinahon niyang sabi habang inaamoy ang buhok ko.

"I-I thought you were fucking dead." My voice trembled. My hands were shaking because of fear a while ago.

"What?" Gulat niyang tanong.

"I-I saw an article and news about a collision. I saw...I saw your car there. I-I thought you were fucking dead. I didn't know what to do."

He sighed and kissed my forehead.

"Calm down a little. I'm here now, Lav, standing in front of you...alive. You can stop crying now." His voice was soft.

"Why didn't you tell me about it?! I was fucking waiting for you for hours! And... and the call ended up with that fucking crashed sound! I thought something happened to you!"

"What?" Naguguluhan niyang sabi. "I told George to contact you and tell you that I might go home late. My battery died at the same time as the crash. Maraming pila sa drive-thru. I was fortunate that I was walking inside the Starbucks to get some food and drinks. But my car was involved there. I couldn't get a taxi because there were commotion and traffic."

"He didn't tell me about it!" I was still crying.

Calen wiped my tears away. Wala akong tigil kakaiyak. My tears seemed like they had their own lives, rushing out my eyes and falling down my cheek.

"I-I was beyond scared that I might...I might lose you. Y-You didn't know how nervous I was, and you were just sipping your fucking Starbucks drink!" Hinampas ko ulit siya sa dibdib.

He caught my hands. He looked directly into my eyes, confused. "I don't understand." Bulong niya. He stared into my eyes.

"W-what?"

"I don't understand why you're acting like this. You're making me confused."
