(February 1940)

We had learnt how to manipulate someone for information, and we were also learning how to use your body to win against anybody who dares to fight you. Today we were versing a secret opponent. I knew all the strengths and weaknesses of all the girls in my division and I was the best fighter by far. I knew that General Woods was trying to find a way to get back at me for saying what I said to him a few nights ago. We walked into the fighting ring and saw a men division. That is who we were fighting.

"Sixteen, as usual you will be up first." He called out. I let out a nervous breath and then stepped into the rink. A much larger man walked into the ring. He had murder in his eyes. I gulped and then I got into my fighting stance. He did too and I knew this fight was not going to be easy

I quickly threw a kick in his direction which he took no damage too. I then threw another one which he stopped. He grabbed my leg and threw it to the floor pushing me off balance. He then went to kick me in the head in which I rolled out of the way and got back to my feet. He went then threw a punch at me which I hit away with my forearm. I wrapped my hand back around his and jumped, trying to use all my weight to get him to the ground. He fell but threw me off making me flew back away. I landed with a thud but threw the pain I still got back to my feet. This guy just can't take a punch. I then threw another kick at him hitting him square in the face. He stumbled back a few steps, so I decided to throw another one while he was off guard. My leg managed to get caught on his should and he stopped. 'This was going to hurt.' I thought to myself. He grabbed my leg and flung me around and then to the ground. I let out a grunt as my body hit the floor at a record pace. The air from my lungs escaped and soon his hands found my throat. I gasped for breath as he stared down at me.

"That's enough." I heard a yell from behind me. He let go of my throat and I sat up gasping for air. I watched as the man stood up smiling and left the rink. I gently stood to my feet and exited the rink. I took a seat on the nearest bench and rub my neck where I knew there would be a mark.

(TIME SKIP TILL FREE TIME)

It was after dinner, and we had about two hours to rest before we went to bed. I walked down to the fighting room and got myself in front of a punching bag. I practiced hitting it over and over until my knuckles had bloody blisters on them. I still continued but stopped when I heard someone behind me. I turned and saw the General.

"Don't stop, keep practicing." He said quietly. I nodded and then continued but I felt his eyes on me, judging my every move. He then crept closer.

"You're never going to win, not like that." He said. I stop and then turn to him. He looks at me and then says.

"You have to use your whole body." I nod and then he grabbed my left lumber region.

"Keep your tension here." I nod and then turn back to the target.

"Go offence, your fast and your small so you could win if you attack first." I take in all his valuable information. He then takes a few steps backwards and I continue hitting the target. Using his technique, I felt like I was going to win tomorrows fight.

(TIME SKIP TILL TOMORROW NEXT TRAING SESSION)

"Knock her to the ground," I heard one of them chuckle making me even more nervous. I lifted my hands into a defensive position and made my stance. He copied but was chuckling.

"What you think I can't fight?" I asked.

"No of course not, you're a girl. Your meant to be cooking sandwiches in a kitchen." He spoke.

'How dare he.' I scoffed. He then threw a punch towards me. I dodged it with ease and then caught his wrist. I flipped it back earning a groan from the solider. I then jumped onto him, wrapping my legs around his neck and then I swung him to the ground. We both fell with a thud. He then tried to get free of my grip, but my ankles were locked so there was no way to escape. I heard a few gasps come from the people around me and then finally he tapped my legs three times which showed that he gave up. I didn't let go though. I went down to his ear and whispered.

"How's that for a girl in the kitchen." I then swiftly let him go and stood up. I smirked as he grumbled and fixed himself from the floor.

"Next." General Woods called. I walked out of the ring and let another girl replace me.

"Nice work sixteen." I heard General Woods call. I looked up and smiled in his direction.

(TIMESKIP TILL TWO DAYS LATER)

I had finally gotten better from my beating and now I was back into training like it never happened. Today we were practicing how to throw a grenade at a target. The cold bitter air surrounded us as we each waited in line to throw our grenade. This early morning it was foggy and had icy winds blew us. My lips were blue, and I couldn't feel my fingers because they were numb. The girl in front of me grabbed a grenade and then she walked up to the mark. She pulled the pin and went to throw it, but it slipped from her hands falling only a few meters in front from her. I had five seconds to take cover, but the girl would die if she remained that close to the soon to be exploding object. I ran forwards, knowing it could go off any second, and grasped the hand of the girl. She was stunned and was shaking. I pulled her away as far as I could in the time I had left and then yelled.

"EVERYONE DOWN!" The grenade then exploded behind me, the force of it blowing me forwards. I was blown 2 meters forwards and landed on the ground; I struggled a few breaths because the force of hitting the ground stole the breath from my mouth.

"Sixteen," I heard the General shout. "Twenty-two." I heard him come up next to me and looked me in the eyes. I slowly lifted myself too my knees and looked at the girl I just saved. I felt my hand shaking as I studied her position. She was laying motionless on the ground a few feet away from me. I crawled my way over to her and shook her.

"Twenty-two, wake up." I shook her. I checked her pulse on her wrist and it was extremely faint. I then shook the poor girl again. Her eyes opened slightly, and she looked at me. Her mouth then started moving and I heard her whisper something to me.

"Thank-you." She mumbled. She then passed out. I gasped. I quickly picked her up and started running to the medical office. I laid her onto one of the medical beds and started by checking her pulse. She wasn't breathing. I quickly started CPR as I heard a Nurse run into the office.

"Sixteen, status." She said quickly. I pulled away from doing CPR and let the nurse continue.

"Sir she was hit but a close grenade that exploded. She was able to thank me before she fell out of consciousness. She had a weak pulse before she became unconscious and when I laid her onto the bed she wasn't breathing." I concluded. The nurse continued performing CPR on her until finally she awoke gasping for air. I felt relieved as the nurse helped Twenty-two. Another nurse eventually came and led me outside so they could continue their job without me interfering. Stood just by the door my left-hand shaking. I was then meet by a General and another man.

"Sixteen, status report." He said. I stated once more what happened.

"Twenty-two was hit but a close grenade that exploded. She was able to thank me before she fell out of consciousness. She had a weak pulse before she became unconscious and when I laid her onto the bed she wasn't breathing. She had CPR performed on her until she woke up. I was then escorted out of the room but for all I know she is alive. I am unsure on her injuries." My hand shaking more violently as I recalled the events that had just occurred in front of my eyes. I grabbed my left hand with my right to stop it from shaking.

"Sixteen, do you have any injuries?" I heard him ask. I couldn't feel any part of my body hurting yet, so I shook my head. He nodded.

"You are to report back at your cabin, and you are to still report for duty tomorrow." The General stated. I nodded my head and then the two men went inside to talk to Twenty-two. I walked back to my cabin and opened the door to see the girls crowded over my sleeping quarters.

"Hey!" I called out. I ran over to the girls, and they were all reading my letter from Bucky. I ripped the letter from the grip and tucked it into my pocket.

"That is a personal letter how dare you read it without my consent." I shout waving my hands signaling for them to get away.

"Who is Bucky and how on earth did you manage to get him to fall in love with you?" One of them asked.

"None of your business." I said. I slipped into bed and shut my eyes, clutching my letter to my chest. 'Oh, what I would do to be able to kiss Bucky's soft lips or give him a hug.'
