"I am Akuma..." I reply softly.

"Why were you in the red-light district?" She asks.

I gaze down and frown guilty. "I'm sorry, big sister...I-I was curious about the light and wanted to check it out..." I say. Tears have formed in my eyes. "Please don't tell anyone about this!"

Manasa sighs. "Alright, get home quickly, there is a serial killer on the loose."

"Vice Captain!" A knight says from afar. "We've secured the entire parameter!"

Manasa glance back at her subordinate and nods.

She turns her attention back to me and taps my back. "Go."

I nod and run off.

As I do, I turn back and stare at Manasa's back. She does resemble someone I know from the future...but I can't remember who.

...

Well, it doesn't matter for now.
==================================
*creaks*

Glenn went to check up on me and see me sleeping soundly in the bed.

He sighs and smiles. "Hah...I'm flabbergasted. Not taking in them because of money is the most logical choice but... Since when did I become such a Saint?" He mumbles. "Damn it. Yuki's kindness had rubbed off on me."

He closes the door.

*thud*

...

And I take that chance to jump in through the window, swapping with the decoy.

"Huff huff."

I grasp my chest and quickly sit on the bed in a meditating position.

An immense amount of energy is circulating in my body, trying to rush into my mana storage. However, the problem lies in the capacity.

I need to quickly use the energy to engrave another magic circuit on my heart and advance to the second stage.

I close my eyes and begin. Much of the energy has congregated around my lower abdomen. If I try to forcefully move the entire batch, I will instantly die.

...

I don't have a choice, I will have to do this the slow way by taking bits and bits out.

With that, I spent the night absorbing the energy.

"Phew..." I breathe out a mist of mana as my body glows in blue. When I open my eyes, the entire room is filled with fluctuations of mana and light is shining in. It's already day.

I touch my chest and realise my body is chilling cold. It's a sign of purification, a process where body heat burns impurities. The process is accompanied when one reaches the second star.

I channel the mana in my body to my fingertips. A droplet of blue liquid forms below my nails and drips to the ground, dissipating upon contact.

With purification, I can control mana more freely and easily.

Although I theoretically can use every form of magic, including the ones I am not supposed to use in the second star, the issue lies in the amount of mana required.

Up until now, I've been relying on atmosphere mana but there will come a day that mere minuscule atmospheric mana won't be enough.

Thus, I need to store mana in my mana storage that increases as I rise in star rank.

...

I need to take a hot bath.

After that, two days passed in a flash.

I take a deep breath as I lay under the blanket. This is the promised date with those bandits, I hope they don't run away because I've planted a mana bomb in each of their bodies and I won't tolerate any misconduct.

Deep late at night, the faint moonlight shines into my room.

*Boom!*

!

That sound came from the first floor. What are those fuckers doing? Are they announcing themselves to the whole world?

Curious, I connect my consciousness to a stream of mana that travels through the wooden flooring.

I can feel...Glenn is in the kitchen, holding a knife...and four unknown intruders.

Hmm...since I only specified the fortune in my request, it seems that they are going to extreme measures to get it.

"W-What fortune!? Those are baseless rumours!!" Says Glenn.

The warrior bandit smirks. "It doesn't matter if there is a fortune or not, a job is a job. Smash whatever you can until you find the fortune." He says.

"Yes!" His subordinates reply.

The warrior sits on the counter and takes off the ragged coat, revealing a large greatsword behind his back.

Glenn gulps, trembling with the knife in his hand.

"Y-You..."

The bandits wreak havoc up and down, destroying tables, kitchen appliances, and rooms.

Suddenly, two bandits went down the stairs with two young boys in their arms. "Sir, what do we do with them?"

The warrior glance at the twins before saying "kill them."

!!

"D-Don't touch them!" Glenn charges forward despite the blatant consequences.

The warrior grips the great sword and easily slashes down Glenn into two bloody lumps of meat.

*BOOOOM!*

The resulting mess is a pile of flesh and a trench of broken wood.

The twins stare at the sight in fear as their face goes pale.

"Hm..." The warrior bandit reaches out to the twins and touches their chins "Maybe they have some uses. We can sell them for quite a hefty amount."

My connection with the mana is interrupted the moment I detect the bandit's presence outside my room.

Now that Glenn is dead and the inn can no longer function, I have achieved my goal.

But I may need the twins as my witness to Glenn's death. I alone am not convincing enough to fool Yuki.

As the bandit touches the door handle, a bullet of mana bash through the door and pierces his head.

*thud*

I open the door and step over the corpse, adjusting my face into a pale terrified expression.

Going to the stairs, I can see the three remaining intruders.

"S-Stop! Let them go!!" I say at the top of the stairs. Around me are floating magic circles.

?

The warrior bandit turns his attention to me. "Oh? A magician? And you look young." He says. "Hehehe..."

He smiles. "A genius huh, you will be worth more than these two-"

*PEW!*

One icicle shoots out from a magic circle and hit the subordinate's head, killing him in an instant as his body was flung back.

!!!!

"Chantless...magic?!" The warrior bandit exclaims.

...

Shit.

It's been a long time since I've done "magic" manually I forgot that beginner magicians need to chant.
