This chapter sucks I'm sorry ahhhhh

While the Pogues were driving to...well...they didn't really know where, but that's besides the point, while they were driving, Rafe and Renfield were delivering the cross to Carla.

The two men spent the next ten minutes trying to get the stupid thing out of the back of the truck.

"Woah, hold on." Rafe said as he jumped down off the tailgate and onto the ground, grabbing the bottom end of the cross.

"Ready?"

"Yeah. One, two, three." And they carefully set the cross down.

"I told you I'd get it for you, didn't I?" Renfield said, panting as he looked at Carla.

"You said you would, and you did."

Renfield began to cut the tape off, unraveling it slightly.

"Before we do this, I just wanna remind you of the deal, okay?" Rafe said as Carla rolled her eyes slightly.

"You really are your father's son, aren't you? Talking about deals at a moment like this."

"I showed you the mural. I get my cut."

"The deal is as we discussed, Rafe."

"It better be."

"You'll get your cut." She replied as she stared at the cross in front of her, walking towards it and touching every inch, "So beautiful. Inside the cross is the shroud. And whoever touched the hem of the garment shall be healed."

Renfield and Rafe shared a look as Carla reached in her pocket for the key, eagerly putting it into the slot, "It's time for a miracle."

But it wouldn't open.

Frustrated, she tried multiple times before Renfield stepped up.

"Here. Let me help you get it."

"No. It's meant for a Limbrey!"

"Yikes." Rafe whispered under his breath.

She finally figured it out, sighing in relief and opening the slot.

There was nothing in it.

"Hmm." Rafe muttered, "The magic scarf was eaten by bugs."

Renfield snickered slightly as Carla stared at the empty hole in confusion. And Carla, well, she lost it because suddenly, she swung around and hit Renfield in the face, "How dare you mock me!"

And he grabbed her, throwing her to the ground, making Rafe step in.

"Hey, hey, hey!"

"Easy, Carla."

She glared up at him, "That's it. You're cut off. You're not getting a penny."

Renfield bent down to her level, "I don't need your money. I've got the cross now. Come on, Rafe. Help me."
